Gibson 1959 ES-175D Double Pickup Electric Guitar (with Case)

The ES-175's full-bodied and powerful tone is like few other guitars. It's creamy and rich, with enough bite and thump to nail leads and rhythm parts.

I am a gigging musician and play in a variety of projects and use a variety of guitars depending on the show. This was a special purchase for me as I don't usually spend that kind of money on an ax and I did not buy it to play live as it doesn't totally fit what I do. All that said, the guitar is beautifully made and sounds amazing. I find I can use it live with a 1 x 12" set-up with virtually no feed-back. But, I do not use it for gigging much. It is my "Go home, unwind and listen to the sweet warm tones this guitar produces. It's like being an Indy Car Driver and then jumping into a Cady for the trip home.I am not so pleased with some of Gibson's recently made Les Pauls, but this Gibson is one fine Guitar!

I'm very particular about my guitars. I have sent back more than half of the guitars I've ordered online from various dealers due to them not meeting my expectation of high quality. This purchase was the exception! I saw the 12 payment plan option available here at zZounds and having dreamed of owning an ES-175 I pulled the trigger. The online reviews (Guitar Player, Premier Guitar etc.) of this specific model have been stellar. They were absolutely right. This ES-175 feels vintage with its lighter weight and three dimensional sound. The notes just ring like a bell, chimey, and when attacked, compress into tone nirvana. Gibson nailed it with this model and nailed it big time! The fit and finish were perfect for a Memphis model. I have traditionally only purchased ES models from the Nashville factory. This one is a rare gem and will now be my numero uno! Thanks to zZounds for the quick overnight delivery that did not cost an arm and a leg. Grab 'em while they are still around!

If the sound on that video is anything to go by, I wouldn't give you $200 for this ridiculously overpriced plywood box. My Samick Blue Note would wipe the floor with it.
