Great guitar - my new favorite! Really pleased. Playability, Tone, Dynamics, Finish - all outstanding. These Firebird pickups sound like thick single coils which is exactly what I was looking for. No Les Paul tones here, so don't buy this if that is what you are looking for. Great clean and dirty tones into my Fender amps. React well to fuzz and overdrive pedals.I am able to get awesome dirty garage tones out of this axe. No pronounced neck dive, good weight (mine weighs 7 pounds 2 ounces.

Musical Background:

guitar and bass. 20 years.

This guitar plays and sounds fantastic! There were just a few minor blemishes on the fretboard and the neck pickup sounds very muddy.
Sound
This is one of the most responsive guitars I have ever played. The mini-humbuckers are very dynamic and touch sensitive. The output is much lower than a typical les paul but that is NOT a bad thing! I use a Soul Food to boost the level to what my LP and Hod Rodded Strats produce.
Features
This guitar sounds great and the bridge pickup is super dynamic!
Ease of Use
This firebird is super dynamic and fairly easy to dial in a good tone for Classic Rock, Jazz, Cleans, and even Heavy tones. It also didn't take much effort to tweak and intonate this guitar. The only gripe I have is the neck pickup has no bite at all.
Quality
The finish is great! There are some weird red streaks next to the top frets though. The tuners are okay but will sometimes 'jump' instead of smoothly turning (it's not the string slipping over the nut though). Also the truss rod was covered in paint and was part of the finish. The screws didn't line up well on the truss rod cover either.
Value
If I had to price this guitar it would be around 1100-1200 USD. I've bought many other Gibson guitars with better finish and hardware than this
Manufacturer Support
I have had no experience with Gibson Customer Support! Not a bad thing
The Wow Factor
This guitar is all in all a great playing and sounding guitar, it stays in tune well and was super easy to set up.!
