This guitar feels like all neck at first. I thought it was a longer scale than my other Gibsons, but it is not. After you get used to how it feels on, the fun begins. Many people complain about the stock ceramic pickups, but I love them! I play dirty Zep/Hendrix/Sabbath style original rock and this guitar sounds amazing and unique through cranked tube amps! Sounds like a mix between HB and single coils, but still has its own sound as well. I took it on a 10 date tour and beat the heck out of it, it held up perfectly despite me covering it with blood and sweat and slamming the headstock into cymbals multiple times. The Steinberger tuning system takes a minute to get used to, but is a breeze to use once you figure it out and stays in tune perfectly. Make sure to keep a tiny allen on hand though as a couple of the tuning knobs came off, which makes it impossible to tune unless you get them reattached. I think they were loose from the factory because I have not had any issues since I tightened them myself. Check out these videos if you want to hear it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IIVnSzQ2OE and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vtQES_jyNg. i can't wait to get a second firebird :)
