If you want a bass that isn't heavy but has an awesome sound - this is it. Looks great, sounds great, and has that really nice feel when you play it. I can't say enough good things about this bass. I have a Warwick, Fender custom shop jazz bass, Les Paul gold top bass, Martin acoustic, and others but this is rapidly becoming my favorite.

When I purchased this instrument in the summer of 2013, I was unsure of it, but thought it would be a great investment. I am, however, in love with this playable piece of artwork. It's fast to play, sounds terrific, and gives anything else I own a run for its money. I am big fan of Fender Jazz basses, and own several. However, this ES-335 bass is not just a contender, it's the only one I am playing right now. I can hardly put it down!

I've been playing bass since the late '70s.

Just got this bass and played a gig the night it was delivered. I was expecting a great bass, but was still very pleasantly surprised at the ES-335's performance. Super responsive and very versatile. Very pleased.

The base looks gorgeous, but (there is always a but) it was unplayable right out of the case. I brought it to an X-Gibson certified repair shop. They said it looked like a 'Friday' guitar. The set up included straightening out the neck, filing frets, and bridge adjustment for $150. It was purchased as a blemish but it should have been labeled a 'second' . zZounds graciously reimbursed me for the repair. (Thank you zZounds) Now that is fixed, I have no complaints and I can always revert back to Gibson Nashville to make good on the lifetime warranty. Gibson should never have let this one out of the factory in this condition. I rated it as it showed up at my door, prior to the repair. All is good now, 5 stars.
