"You really need to own this Gibson Midtown Bass!"

You absolutely have to own this bass to fully appreciate Gibson's revival of the (long overdue) long-scale semi-hollowbody bass! From fit to finish, it truly looks, feels, and plays like a much higher priced Gibson (bass or guitar) right out of the box. The action, tone, sustain, and ease of play of this bass is everything you would hope for from a Gibson- and more! Well-made and very well-balanced, especially for a semi-hollowbody. The looks are sensational! My only criticism is the handle of case (which is included) feels a bit loose, but who plays their case? Overall, this is now one of my favourite basses out of many! This bass is well worth the price, and I hope to get another one from zZounds soon!

Very happy with my purchase. My fist Gibson. And my fist hollow body bass. The sound is amazing. The people at zzsounds where fantastic. Secound bass I got from them. My third will be the same. I had it at my door in three days. You should give them ago. I got the blue. The pictures show the true color.

I love to play this bass with my fingers, pick playing sounds kindda tinny though. The mini TB is a little on the weak side and I wish there were separate volume and tone knobs for each p/u. The neck could be a little thinner too. Besides that it's a beauty and give me that old school feel when I play it. Set up out of the box was good and intonation was dead on. My first Gibby and I'm not thrilled but not disappointed either.

Musical Background:

I've been playing on and off for about 10 years and I'm an amature

Musical Style:

rock, punk, blues

I have owned several Gibson Bass guitars and this Midtown is a typical, well-built smooth sounding instrument. If you can find the quality and precision from another bass for the price, let me know. This bass is excellent for any genre or setting. It is pretty simple, easy to get the sound you want, and built like a tank. Another excellent Gibson guitar.

Musical Background:

I have been playing for well ofer 50 years. Can play guitar, bass, keyboards, trumpet, tuba, saxophone. I play professionally

Musical Style:

We play rock n' roll, country, jazz, pop, and the blues.
