This is the only case that actually fits an SGj with full neck support and molded body cavity. I tried several of the cases that claimed to be for sg styled guitars. All of the cases were well made and although the guitar fit in the case it was clear that the case wasn't made for the guitar. Most of the time the the curve of the body was off or the neck wasn't supported properly. After a week of trying to save a few dollars buying the cheaper cases I decided to try the gibson case a try. Well what a difference, the case fit the guitar like a glove. There is a full padded ramp in the body section to support the body as the neck joint meets the first support and the second supports the nut end of the neck perfectly. All of the other cases had all the weight of the body resting on the neck joint and the end of the neck near the nut had an nch or so of play. When you closed the lid the guitar Body would be levered up at the neck. I couldn't be happier with this case and should have just spent the money in the beginning and saved everyone the trouble. As always zzounds was great although I don't think any case other than the gibson cases should be recommended for any sg model.

This case is made in Canada by TKL and is exactly like the issued case except the outer vinyl covering is in faux leather instead of faux reptile and the plush is gray instead of white. My 70's Tribute SG fits perfectly and very snug. All of the seams are well glued and the latches are perfect. Very nice amount of padding and it provides the right support under the body/neck joint!
