Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 Bass Amplifier Head

The Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 is a tiny amp, weighing only 4 pounds. However, the Shuttle 9.0 also puts out a staggering 900 watts at 4 ohms.

"Best Bass Amp for me ever!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I don't expect to look for another product ever, unless Genz Benz puts out something else that goes even beyond this one!
Sound
This amp has done for me things that my old Ampeg SVT-3pro can not. It has given me the tone in my head! Doesn't hurt that it is so lite! I recommend for anyone looking for a fairly neutral/uncoloring amp that has all the bottom you need and all the headroom you could want.
Features
The tube gain gives you a lot of tonal range, from pretty hifi to more of a vintage sound as you turn it up. The weight of course is a major plus! Has pre and post gain on the DI and ground lift.
Ease of Use
For me it was real easy to use. I set it flat to start, made a couple of minor adjustments, and there my tone was!
Quality
Seems very high quality, as most all Genz Benz products are.
Value
Value is just outstanding. The price for what you get in product and support are bar none!
Manufacturer Support
Here is where Genz Benz really shines!! Mr. Genzler answers emails himself very quickly and goes out of his way to make sure customers are happy. The warranties are transferable too, so if you buy an amplifier used and have a problem they will check the serial number to see if any warranty is still left and if so, fix it under warranty for you! That is just unheard of!!
The Wow Factor
I can make good music without it, but it has such great tone and Genz Benz support is so great, I would rather not make music without it!

"The Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 is almost a "10""

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

If this product started to give me problems i would replace it otherwise there would be no need. Its light practical good sounding and pretty hassle free.
Sound
The shuttle 9.0 has a pretty natural sound and very compatible with different styles of playing.Sometimes i use it in conjunction with my Demeter preamp and that takes it to another sound level. The amp has tons of power and sounds very good at low settings. At any level this amp is very capable.I have not used it in a recoding situation but I'm sure going direct would be just fine. The fan is a bit loud so i would not recommend a mike placement
Features
There were no included accessories and I had to go out and get an amp to speaker cable as the connector at the amp is not the standard 1/4 inch jack. The amp has 3 signal shaping buttons which are useful for added tone shaping and the active EQ is pretty simple and straight ahead to use.
Ease of Use
The shuttle 9.0 is very simple to operate.I also use it with my Demeter preamp which adds even more to an already good sounding amp.The shuttle can be rack mounted so using it as a power amp is an option. 900 watts weighing 4lbs is a very good option.
Quality
I dislike the knobs as i find them hard to read and gives the amp a bit of a cheap appearance but in general the amp seems very well made.At 4lbs this amp is easy to cart around and would be great for any type of music situation.Part time or full time pro's would appreciate the no hassle set-up and quick functionality.Aside from the 1 tube that will have to be replaced at some point the amp should good service.
Value
What this product cost to make and what its selling for I would call it expensive. But that can be said for most anything on the market today. It does what i want it to do so that makes it worth the money.
Manufacturer Support
I wrote to the company as i had a question and I got a reply from Jeff the owner within 12 hours.I believe Genz Benz to be in the hands of an efficient person and I foresee no problems if i had to get anything done. The amp is relatively new so I have had no problems with it and recommend Genz Benz to anyone out there.
The Wow Factor
Its a practical addition to my set up.I like the color but dislike the silver knobs as it gives it a somewhat cheap appearance.

"Love this amp, highly recommend it"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

This is a fantastic little amp. Quiet when running but big sound comes out of it. Easy to use. I would prefer a four band equalizer rather than the high, low, and mid with adjustable frequency, but that is just me. On the whole this amp is impressive. I also own a shuttle 3.0 and that is good for low volume situations but the Shuttle 9.0 can be used pretty much in any situation. Yet it is 4 lbs. Go figure. These amps are well reviewed pretty much anywhere you read including the main online bass forums. I should also point out that Genz-Benz is well known for outstanding customer service.
