I found (after a week of use) this produced to be a bit tricky to use. Even the installation process was a bit unclear. I am using this with Finale 2014, which I installed months ago, and I'm still trying to get it all together. Admittedly, I am not a tech type, so it doesn't surprise me that I would have some challenges along these lines. The big band samples (in their ads) are very impressive - very high level composition/arranging skills - possibly done by some pros. But never the less. the sound quality that is attainable with JABB3 is there - if you have the skill set to find it. Hopefully, with time, I will do better with it. I just wish that Finale/Garritan would make it a bit easier for those not so well versed in computers - especially for us older musicians (I am 71) and having for most of my life written out music "by hand"...

I am running JABB3 in Dorico and have found the process cumbersome and not very rewarding. It’s possible that updated playback templates might help, but right now out if the box NP4 is far superior even though it’s not particularly jazz centric. Stabs, falls, scoops, drops, doits, and other jazz style articulations are entirely missing. If they want to make this practical for Dorico users, they have a way to go. I can’t handle 17 individual mixers fir a big band when all assigned instruments should should up in one mixed. Also, the drums are way softer tgat the other instruments. The demos sound great, but getting that out if a program designed gif music engraving has to be kess time consuming if it can even be done.Also, if you buy this as a download, you cannot get a refund, so be careful.

The sounds do not sound anything like the instruments and they come through with a low volume. I tried to get help from Garritan, but basically they tell me to tweak the sounds to get them to sound the way I want. I just want them to sound like the instrument they represent.. Cannot get there with tweaking.
