I am a semi-professional musician gigging 3-4 times per month. Many of the places we play have serious "issues" with power and there have been occasions where I notice a major loss of tone and a feeling that the amp is "flat" or non-responsive/dynamic. In one case, the circuit that I was plugged in to, also had kitchen equipment on it, on an adjoining wall-the refrigerator turned on and my amp blew...$ 150.00 worth of tubes for an $ 100.00 gig...You don't need to be a mathematician to know that isn't good for the wallet.So, I decided to go with a proper power supply and ordered the P-1800 PF. In a word-FANTASTIC! Even at home, where I have adaquate power, I notice a difference - The amp sounds brighter (in a good way) and more dynamic. I can't wait to try it out at some of the rooms that I know have suspect power to make further observations.Everyone should gig with this!

A must have for live sound! If you have equipment that has a heavy draw..at times the wall/outlet can't keep up. This unit has a 45amp reservoir built-in that stores reserve current to avoid any dips/sags in your amps/powered speakers. This unit can also be a great addition to powered subs to keep the low end sounding tight and crisp. Furman's tech support was extremely helpful in describing which product would best benefit my setup. This unit is the non-rackmountable version of the P1800PF-R, which I prefer to keep my gator case light. These two power factor units have the latest power conditioning features from Furman (SMP,LiFt,EVS). However, it does not have voltage regulation at the outputs of the device. A great product that can be used in conjunction with this model is the P1800AR, which has the voltage regulation aspect. Can't go wrong with these two units.
