The Scarlett Solo is a solid unit with excellent build quality and features. It has a very straightforward interface and simple to use.
Sound
As far as the Scarlett unit goes, there is nearly zero latency. No distortion or impedance is noticeable when transferring sound to your computer. There is plenty of gain to amplify your signal, with extra gain to spare.
Features
The mic and instrument inputs are solid, and does not show any signs of cheap build quality or parts. All switches and knobs are very solid, with no wiggle. The knobs have just the right amount of resistance to ensure accuracy while being turned.
Ease of Use
The Scarlett Solo is very straightforward to plug in and install. I'm not a big fan of downloading drivers and software, but at least you know you'll gave the latest updates. Just install the driver, plug the unit into the computer with the supplied USB cord, plug in your instrument or mic...then hook up your monitors in the rear of the unit, and your up and running. The green/red ring that surrounds the gain knob easily shows whether your sound output from your mic or instrument is too loud (red) or just perfect (green).
Quality
The main body of the unit is metal, and the plastic used is of very high quality. All font on the unit is very crisp and clean. All knobs, switches, and ports are very solid with no wiggle and has the right resistance on each feature.
Value
The build quality, sound quality, features, and plugins that come with this unit for only about $100 is an excellent deal! They could easily sell this product for more.
Manufacturer Support
I have not had any experience yet with this manufacturer because I have not had any issues with this unit...however, the instructions are very clear and easily understood.
The Wow Factor
Again, this unit is suprisingly powerful and crisp for the price. I would definitely recommend this unit to everyone.

"Good Little Interface"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

This is a good little interface to get you started but make sure your software setup is ready to go.
Sound
You're mostly buying this for the pre-amp, it's really pretty good. The out put is very clean as well.
Features
I like the light up indicator to show if you are clipping, in danger of clipping, or in a good range. Wish it had more output options.
Ease of Use
I had to install a driver that I had to find and download online from the presonus website but it wasn't that big of a deal. That being said... There are some diver issues between this and Reaper. Good latency though!
Quality
Mechanically this thing seems really solid and like it will last.
Value
This unit has lot of features compared to competitors in its price range.

"Avoid this; get something else"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars

My Focusrite Scarlet Solo 2nd Gen. interface had issues from day 1. Even after buying a uninterruptible power supply, it occasionally popped loudly via the speakers when my ceiling fan switch was flipped on disconnecting the sound. Then about once a week (with my previous computer and about once a month with my new one) would lose connection with my PC. The fix was unplugging the unit and replugging. Then as it got to be about 3 years old, even just anything touching the outer surface of it caused static on the monitors and sometimes the aforementioned disconnection. Finally it died completely producing no sound. I bought a Black Lion Revolution 2x2 and have been super happy with it. Avoid (at least the lower level) Focusrite interfaces!

"Windows 10 Driver Issues - DO NOT BUY"

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If you're using Windows 10 and intend on using this for any extended period of time, AVOID purchasing this product. Currently, I can't go any longer than 3 hours without my audio interface resulting in me sounding like a robot. I've contacted support multiple times and they've tried to be helpful, but it doesn't seem like there's any end in sight for this problem. I wish I had researched the Solo prior to purchasing considering it's a very well known issue. To clarify, there's nothing wrong with the interface itself, but the drivers are not working the way they should. I was using this to connect my AT2020 to my PC for streaming alongside VOIP chatting (Discord/Teamspeak/Skype) and it has been 6 months of continuous unplugging and replugging of the Solo to temporarily work around the issue.
