Feature:
I have looked far abroad for a budget firewire interface for my recording rig. After 3 months of searching...this one was the winner. It Has metering superior to Presonus's Firestudio. Two headphone jacks (Even though I use a behringer HA4700 for my headphones) awesome how you can choose separate mixes for each jack. 10 1/4" outputs on the back for zero-latency mixing through the pres and I run a behringer ADA8000 for 8 more ins and outs through the "optical" I/O
Quality:
Most definitely road worthy. Haven't had a single problem with it.
Value:
All in all, Focusrite has outdone themselves with features packed into this unit. I got away for $380 because I had it price matched. I was willing to pay $500 for it until I saw it for cheaper.
Desirability:
Meters look very sexy in my rig.
Sound:
Amazing sounding mic pres as you would expect from Focusrite. Good volume through it, no hiss
Ease of Use:
Plugged it into my 2.0 Ghz Mac Mini. Launched the Saffire "Mix Control" and powered it up... Very easy to use. Works great with Logic 8
Support:
Haven't had to called support.
Overall:
First I would like to say I'm not a focusrite rep. or salesman. I cannot get over everything that is included in this package for the price. I could see this being used in recording rigs or in a studio. Take my word for it, buy one! I've looked long and hard and I've finally found EXACTLY what I was looking for.... The Saffire Pro 40
