Fender PT10 Chromatic Pedal Guitar Tuner

You can tell from this tuner's heavy, die-cast metal housing that this is a serious tuner.

You need to think of what you want in a tuner. Then
buy a PT-10 Fender tuner! All metal case. Rubber
bottom, so it will stay put. If your six foot tall,
and playing a bass guitar, sing your heart out,
and looking at other band menbers all at the
same time, just look down and it's easy to see.
What more do you want? For the price, we all
have one! We stay in PERFECT tune, how about you?

The pedal (the best tuner format aside from a rack mount) is quite rugged, looks great, has a good bypass and is well worth $40+ street price. However, I have a few gripes after using it for a while (though I am very particular about my gear in general). First, the note names above the LEDs are too small to read from any distance (even standing above it). Second, the tuner is not as responsive as some others I used. Third, the thing is definitely ranged for a guitar - it cannot consistently pick up the open E on my bass. If you do alternate tunings or will use it for guitar and bass, I would recommend that you pony up the extra dough and get a BOSS TU-2, with its LED note name and special guitar and bass modes.

Ease of Use:
You cannot see which note it is selecting for you. Looking down at it all you see is the single light. It needs to show the key (or letter)...especially with it being a stage/pedal tuner.

Plain and simple - this tuner is inaccurate for tuning a guitar - period. Not only is it inaccurate because it uses LEDs which don't give a precise reading but it is slmost impossible to see. Get a tuner that uses a needle style meter or simulates one. I got rid of this Fender doorstop after two days and got a Qwik Tune QT-10. Incredible price ($20 w/adaptor!!), SUPER EASY to see with the big back lit display (need the adaptor to activate the light-batteries won't), accurate readings, and choice of play through or mute. Not the greatest looks but super bang for the buck and all the features you need in a floor/stage tuner and isn't functionality what you want in a tuner? Don't waste your time and make the same mistake I did buying this dopey Fender box.

Ease of Use:
very hadr to see what note your tuning especially when your like me and switch between DADGAD and normal/standard tuning.

Overall:
A bit large not very good quality not for people who use it on stage as it doesn't mute when tuning.
