"Love playing my Fender Black Top Strat through it"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I swapped a vintage Marshall SS head and Marshall bin for my amplifier with my friend. I had moved away from using acoustic guitars so i put my Fender black top strat through it and the amplifier has been my go to amp ever since. After playing around with the different effects I found my sweet spot which was the Chorus + delay effect. My volume has never gone over 5. I play in a small church hall so there was no need for any extreme volumes from the amp. Its a versatile piece of kit, plug in your guitar and mic, do a sound check and you are in business. So I found this amp by luck and chance and its all I use now. I have owned Marshalls, Peaveys, Voxs and other Fender amps over the years but the Acoustasonic Junior DSP stands out the best for my musical needs. Yes I know the amp was designed for acoustic electric guitar and not electric guitars as such but it all depends how the gear is used. I have even put a Morley Bad Horsie Wah pedal through it using the amps chorus delay effect. Crazy maybe but I like it. No rules in music. I have also put my Boss Dr Rhythm DR 880 through it using only the chorus effect on the amp. I just adjust my treble mids and bass for the DR 880 and I adjust my tone on my guitar. I've owned and used my amp now for a good four years. I live in New Zealand and these amps are not easy to replace or find. The only bits that I have replaced are four skirted amplifier knobs which were missing when I got my amp. My serial number is #M1520491 made in January 2005 in Mexico. Why waste money on effects pedals when all you have to do is plug and play with this amp. Not every musician is going to have the same gear as you do so there's your point of difference. I love my amp, its simple to use, easy to set up. Its not for everyone and it doesn't matter what amp you own or have owned, there will always be people who can't be pleased. music world has changed so much over the years in terms of equipment and gear that its hard to keep up. I think simple is good. Simple is easy. I like to use just whats on my amp and guitar for the sound I want. The Fender Acoustasonis Junior DSP is a killer amp with heaps of potential. Is it under rated? I think so
Manufacturer Support
The only product I have bought from Fender are four skirted amplifier knobs. The product was easy to source and I was happy with the service.

"Fender really got it right on this amp. Whether you're in a band or a solo player looking to combine your guitar and voice mike"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'm 61 years young. I've owned more guitars and amps then most kids have zits. This amp ain't going nowhere. Ditto on the Strat. This guitar combination is so smooth, mellow, and lusty it could melt the knickers off a frigid Eskimo or howl so hard it would make the Pope kick the stain glass windows out of the Vatican.
Sound
I have owned this amp for a year. I intended to match it up with my Yamaha acoustic 6-string once I got around to installing a pick-up on it. My Fender Strat (ltd. edition light Ash with Seymour-Duncan APS p/u's) sounds so amazing I never got around to altering my Yamaha. I've played guitar for 47 years...50's-60's, Blues, jazz, and country rock. Mostly softer stuff such as ballads but also lots of fast tempo flat and fingerpicking. The note clarity is the best I've found as everything else I've used turns to "mud" when picking tempo gets into high gear. Tried finger-picking with acoustic through voice mike and had the same results. May mic my acoustic just for grins & giggles but either way, this amp is solid. If you like to play instrumentals sans vocals, this amp is especially versatile.
Features
Fender should include the two-button pedal with the amp. Nobody around here carries them and seem hesitant to order them out. Maybe they know something I don't.
Ease of Use
If this amp is hard for you to figure out, maybe you should stick with an acoustic. It's as easy as it gets.
Quality
Like a '57 Chevy in Havana. It'll be cooking long after I'm toast.
Value
It's priced about right. Including the pedal switch would have been a good move on Fender's part.
Manufacturer Support
Not on this amp. Had a G-Dac that was a p.o.s. from the get-go. Nobody at the factory could even tell me how to navigate the menu. The Acoustasonic is one of the best thought out amps I've ever seen. After my experience with the G-Dac, I was a bit leery about another Fender. Glad I gave them another shot at the brass ring. After a year, I don't have one single regret.
The Wow Factor
The "Acoustasonic" badge looks lop-sided, even though it's not. Drives an anal-retentive over the edge, except the great sound makes it more than bearable. I especially like the lean-back legs.

"Great accoustic amp for the money!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

If someone stole this amp, I would have to get another. This is the best my accoustic intruments have ever sounded in a live environment.
Sound
I have tried this amp with my Ovation 12-String, mandolin, and two different resonator guitars. I was able to quickly find the sound I wanted without alot of fussing around. This amp produces a very natural warm sound. The highs are clean, but not brash.
Features
I plugged a second instrument into the mic channel and though that might not be the intended use, it works very well and sounded great.
Quality
This amp seems to be pretty rugged like the old Fender amps were made.
Value
I did alot of research before purchasing this amp and although there were cheaper amps in this category, this seemed to be the best quality for the money.
Manufacturer Support
I want to purchase the optional 2-button FX footswitch, but can't seem to find one. It isn't even listed (as far as I can tell) on the Fender web site. I contacted Fender (e-mail), and they said someone would get back to me in two-weeks or so...not exactly responsive. So far, this is the only complaint I have.

Musical Background:

Have played guitar/bass for about 35 years. Play occasional gigs.

"Fender Has Done It Again... Im Addicted."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Couldnt ask for more, this is top notch, Ive been experimenting with various amps for a while, but I dont think I can get away from fender amps anymore, and this one just has me hooked. Ive tried a few others (roland, behringer, etc), and they just dont stand up in terms of quality and value. This amp is going to be with me forever. Theres nothing more satisfying than buying equipment and knowing its a permanent part of your setup.
Sound
I play through a Godin XTSA in the acoustic input, and use a diamond compressor so draw out the sring definition... wow. The combination honestly sound better then most real electric acoustics. The clarity and versatility of the acoustic sound on this amp is unbelievable, I was floored.
Features
How many acoustic amps offer this kind of variation in effects and eq, not to mention the optional Mic input, which sounds great. This amp has it all in one efficient little package.
Ease of Use
Like most of the other reviewers on here, I would like to be able to find a good working footswitch for this amp, but not such luck so far, other than that its a pretty straight foreward amp, plenty of options without any complex lingo, and I like that.
Quality
It seems pretty solid, the sounds quality and the components seem pretty good, I have been looking at this amp in store for several months, and when I got it home to have a closer look, it was all pretty exact to the specs, so you're not getting let down if you read up on this amp and know what you're getting into.
Value
I really expected to pay a lot more for this amp, by the time taxes got to me, I was paying almost 2 grand for my Supersonic amp, mind you it is a tube amp, but still, to me this is easily and equal quality amp for its purpose, so I would have paid more if I had to.
Manufacturer Support
5 Year warranty is killer, but give me a foot switch !
The Wow Factor
Ive got this setup usually a few feet away from my Supersonic when playing... that is one sexy combo :p.

"Fender Acoustasonic Jr DSP Amp"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I was disappointed that there was no defeat switch for the Phantom power to The Mic/input. I had the amp modded (at a cost of $60) to use a non-powered mic( It would have been so easy and cheap to factory install a switch). That , is the only fault I can find with the amp ! It sound great and transport easily !

"I've owned several of these babies."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I don't think I'll ever replace this little baby..... Unless I go to the SFX model way way way in the future.
Sound
First, I purchased the Acoustasonic 30 a few years ago. It was a great amp, but didn't quite have enough power for me so I sold it. Then I purchased the Acoustasonic Jr and loved it and used it for several years until I sold it to buy the DSP model last week and it sounds just as good as the original. Great for acoustic guitar and microphone, also, though I rarely use it with a mic. I have pushed two acoustic guitars through it though and it is a fantastic amp. Great sound. Easy to use, rarely have to set volume past 3 or 4 and if you send it through to a sound system, you don't need to push it more than 2 (and use it for a monitor).
Features
I like the expanded effects (DSP model) but I wish the footswitch (optional) had a control feature on it to select effects. You must pre-set the effect prior to the song and turn it on/off with the footswitch. The effects are better than original, but still not 100%. Choral, reverb, virbrato, delay, and multiples of those. I would love to have a fuzz just for kicks.
Quality
great workmanship and good quality. I love the amp and wouldn't use any other brand for my acoustic guitar.
Value
The original at approx $375 was a great value, but the DSP is about $475 and that is a little too much, given the extra features. I think $400 - $425 (internet pricing) would be a better value. The higher price may price it out of the market for some people. I was fortunate enough to buy a "blemished" model for a little under $400 and if it weren't for that, I probably would not have sold my old one and purchased the new one.
The Wow Factor
Very well known product.... Easily recognized as the premium acoustic guitar amp. Very sexy.

"Acoustasonic Takes Care of Business for "Acoustic Randall""

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Love the functionality and coolness factor of this amp.
Sound
I love the way this amp sounds. I really meshes well with my Alvarez PD80S acoustic. It is now even more versatile with a variety of commonly used effects. Very nice, warm, tight sound. If you have to use an amp instead of mic'ing the guitar this one is great.
Features
I like the removable power cord. It puts less stress on the cord when breaking down. I like everything but not having a foot switch, but I just wrote that because reading the other review I realized it didn't have one. I'm not sure I could use it but for over $500 bucks seems like a reasonable request. Love the kick back legs and reinforced corners and durable design.
Ease of Use
This amp is bulletproof. You can be up and playing in like 5 minutes. It's so easy to use it's ridiculous and it's so cool it's like a friend in the room. You enjoy interacting with it because it looks cool and does it's job without complaining day in and day out. Take good care and it'll be helping you do your thing for years to come.
Quality
This amp is extremely rugged and durable. That's one reason I went with it again. I loaded gear for 5+ years and it sucks. It sucks more when the gear takes ugly hits while you think about how much dough you spent on it. The construction material, not sure what it is, is totally durable and solid.
Value
I would buy this amp before any other amp. I just feel that way about it. Maybe an Ampeg if they made one, but I'm sticking with Fender.
Manufacturer Support
Never needed any support...don't use the manuals much but I'm sure there is a downloadable .pdf if needed. There was one for the last one I had.
The Wow Factor
This is the coolest amp ever made in my opinion. Many imitators but this Fender is the dealio. A lot of care and ingenuity went into this amp. That's why it's so popular.

"Terrific amp - found the footswitch!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
This will probably fit my needs for a very long time. I'd consider an upgrade later if there are more or better effects available, but I'm not worried about the current capabilities. It is great for my needs. I may get the footswitch if I find the need to switch the effects in and out during a song.
Sound
This is a terrific amp with a lot of useful effects. The second channel with both instrument and XLR microphone inputs (with Phantom power!) is a huge plus. The second channel effects are a little differt from the instumrnt channel, but are very useful for voice. Several people have commented on the lack of information for the optional two-button footswitch. I found it - Fender part number 0062206000, SKU 0062206. I've seen it listed on one site for $37 (original Fender part). I'd give this amp a 10, but I feel like there is room to improve the effects.
Features
Great setup and options. The balanced XLR output with adjustable level makes this a terrific stage amp. You can use it as your own monitor and feed the signal into the mixer for the mains.
Ease of Use
Couldn't be much easier. The controls are straight forward and easy to figure out. The notch filter on the instrument channel is fairly effective at adjusting out a single feedback frequency. The level control on the effects lets you add just as much of an effect as you want.
Quality
Typical Fender, solid, quiet and easy to use.
Value
Super acoustic guitar amp for the price. Useful in small venues for instrument/vocal or 2 instruments all by itself. Useful in a larger venue as a personal monitor with the output sent to house sound.
Manufacturer Support
I have not had to contact Fender directly.
The Wow Factor
It performs and looks great. It appears fairly small and simple - might not have the "sex appeal" that somebody is looking for.

I went into my local XX to purchase either the Marshall AS50D, the AS100 or the 125W Crate Telluride, but my sales gent let me try this Acoustasonic Junior. By far it had the best sound & range of all the others within that price range in the store. ( I played a bunch too) I've been just givin it a whipping since I brought it home about 4 hrs ago, and guess what... Still works fine! So it's tough! The FX are awesome, and make the vocals sweet. There's a couple of things missing I wish it had... (headphone jack,CD input RCA's) But nothing I cant overcome. Overall I think it's the best buy in the price range out there.
Sound
Sound quality is second to none!
Features
No accessories were included, I WISH it has a foot pedal, Headphone jack, RCA inputs for CD.
Ease of Use
Plug & play... it dont get no easier that that!
Quality
I like the appearance, style and retro look of the unit.
Value
Best in it's pricerange

Its a fender and it's built really well it has the fender tone and the tone is ultra shapeable...
Sound
The Sound is very rich and full tons of bottom and top. the string dynamics knob takes you from awesome strumming to finger picking tones sure to please. crisp and crystal clear very fenderish tone, glassy and creamy. In a word it sounds beautiful. the amp itself is extremly quiet. no hum no buzz just dead quiet, until you touch a string then awesome tone thats very shapeable. if you can't make it sound good. 1.You may be tone deaf. 2.you can't turn a knob 3. should have waited to buy an amp and spent the money on more music lessons.
Features
It has everything i need a di out a effects loop, on the otherhand it is'nt loaded down with useless feature that add to the cost. but the feature you get are quality features they work there not cheesy.
Quality
Here is something this amp has over many of the other contenders it's a true amp. it is a quality built to lat amp metal knobs metal inserts it is so refreshing to see an amp built like this these days. total quality construction built like a tank...
Value
i beleieve this amp to be worth what i paid for it and even more. it sounds so rich and full, very expressive.
The Wow Factor
the way you like an amp to look is a personal opinion, my opinion on this amps ":sex appeal" well i love it's tweedish looks i mean if you are against brown\tans then go else where. but i love it! to me it's a beautiful thing. my heart races everytime i see her. hehe
