Feature:
The S1 Switching definitely makes this instrument more versatile than any other Fender model. If you prefer the dirtier tone or a lot of distortion, you will not notice much difference when switching the humbuckler, but if you play with moderate volume, tone, and distortion, you will love this feature.
Quality:
The one I own is of the highest quality. Great finish, and the neck is spectacular. The fret edges are smooth as silk, and the neck finish is unsurpassed. I've been playing Fender instruments exclusively for the past 38 years, and this is the finest quality instrument I have ever played.
Value:
The Fender American HSS Strat with S1 switching is the best electric guitar value on the market.
Desirability:
Mine is Butterscotch Transparent with Black Pickguard and Black Pickups with a Maple fretboard. I have shown this guitar to many of my musician friends and they are all impressed with its great looks.
Sound:
Fender Tex Mex single coils are a bit different from the Fender standard single coils I have become used to over the past 38 years, but provide excellent clarity with a little bite.
Support:
I haven't needed any help with this particular guitar. Fender support is not always great, but from what I hear from owners of other makes of guitars, Fender is way above average.
Overall:
I sold two of my Standard American Strats when I bought this guitar. I still have an excellent quality American Tele, and I don't expect to buy any new guitars in my lifetime.
