Feature:
Great case etc I would trust it in a hurricane.
The bent saddles are maybe what contributes largely to the great tone and intonation , but this might have something to do with the new lacquering too.I didnt notice about the delta tone control in the shop, I just thought the tone control was sticking. I`m looking forward excitedly to sussing this out.I cant actually find anything wrong with the guitar!
Quality:
Considering I used to bounce my first Tele (in its cardboard case ) along the pavement while walking I dont see any reason why this axe should not last a lifetime as I have stopped bouncing and am 60 years old!
Value:
YES YES
Desirability:
Of course I rate it highly. There is nothing like a (good)Fender Telcaster and this one is good! By the way the upgraded saddles are perfect in legacy terms and dont change the vibe while improving lots of stuff like intonation.
Sound:
I`ve only put a deposit on it and p/x ed my Epiphone Les Paul intending to pay the balance this week. I cant wait to get my smutty fingers on this excellent axe. When I tried it in the shop (Soundpad) in Barnstaple England , I couldnt believe Fender were still making guitars like this. The tone is (and I use an old fashioned word deliberately) beautiful! Coupled with this is the near perfect balance of each string with the rest, they are wonderfully interactive. Playability is great and I noticed that a first string whole tone bend ( or maybe more) was possible with no volume loss on the bent note and comfortable even around the 3rd fret. This is a great plus. You really feel you are getting your moneys worth with this axe and I recommend it to anyone even after only trying it in the shop. P.S. I dont work for Fender !!!!!! Mick Tulk.
Ease of Use:
This axe is like an extension of your soul!
Yes it is very intuitive and thats a very personal, subjective matter but it seems to work great for me!
Support:
Never had to but reliable reports speak highly.
Overall:
I hope to play this guitar for the rest of my days and see no reason why I shouldnt, after all, if you have a great Tele who needs anything else? Actually I just recently bought a s/h Epiphone Les Paul (Korean) and I really loved the power and tuning advantages of the humbuckers for a while but what let it down was the balance between the strings. It was great on the trebles but weak on the basses and very weak on the 4th string. This Tele has a strong 4th string which is rare in even some expensive guitars. As I said before I just part exchanged it for this Tele. This axe helps me in my playing style as I like country guitar and do a fair amount of non gentlemanly bends (as when I play a bit of blues) so I really need the hardtail element. If I lost the axe and needed to get a guitar I would pray for one as thats how I got this one (praying in the name of Jesus Christ my saviour)
