As expected, the Fender Acoustasonic Junior is a great little amp and lives us to the Fender name - looks great, sounds great. It seems suitable for practice as well as small gigs, but anyting else would require a bigger amp or routing through a PA system. Hey, what do expect out of a 40 X 40 watt system anyway?
I read in another review that there is distortion above volume level 5. I did not find this to be the case. My amp sounds clear through level 7. I dared no go any higher, which brings me to my only complaint. The feedback notch does not work as well as I thought it would. However, this is my first amplified acoustic experience, so I may not be the best judge of this. Sure it reduces feedback, but at volume levels that I wouldn't expect feedback from. I got quite a lot of feedback from some fairly modest volume levels when I was standing 8 feet from the amp. I feel Fender should put more R&D into this area and make the feedback supression more robust.
The volume knobs stick out a little from the case and could be knocked off, so care must be applied then manuvering the amp in tight spaces. However, adding shorter knobs would make them hard to reach and adjust. There is no easy solution to this issue.
I highly recommend this hearty little amp and am enjoying it a great deal. I am glad that Fender hasn't let the quality slip over the years. Also, the speed and handling of my order from this company was great. I will definately use them again. Play on!!!
