Fender has outdone themselves with this one. I can see why so many talented bassists go with the P bass. This is like the P bass in steroids. If you have the money to invest in this masterpiece, I suggest you do it. You won't be disappointed. The playability is out of this world, smooth as butter. The sound that comes out of this instrument is pure P bass. The new electronics are quiet and easy to use.
Sound
This is a professional sounding instruments. Lots of tone shaping choices for both passive and active sound.
Features
The idea of the neck morphing from a C shape at the head stock to a D shape at the body is very ingenious. It has been done before and it makes playing up and down the neck very comfortable.
Ease of Use
This instrument is very easy to play and use because of the active/passive preamp. The new Fender Vintage HM bridge is easy to set up and intonate.
Quality
The quality of the materials and finish is very high and you can see and feel it as soon as you play this bass.
Value
This P bass plays like its worth twice the selling price.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had to contact Fender.
The Wow Factor
As soon as you start playing this bass you will be impressed by the sound and feel. You will definitely go WOWWWW.....

"Very good instrument, sounds great, great quality"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

Very good instrument, sounds great, great quality
Sound
It sounds great. A lot of flexibility in active mode. Wood combination (ash body with marple neck) gives very bright sound with good growling midrange. Not too much lows, but can be easily adjusted. The sound is balanced. Every frequencies is in place.
Features
Materials are good, I tried to get the instrument with most plain wood structure. I’m not a big fan of active instruments, but the electronics sounds very good in active mode. A lot of sound variants.
Ease of Use
Plays great out of the box, the action was set according Fender specs. I’ve just adjusted the action a bit. Composit neck radius is great feature to me. The neck doesnt feel too thin at 1st frets, I personally love that
Quality
Quality is very good. There are a couple of very-very minor cosmetic nuances, otherwise the quality can be described as perfect. And it is perfect for a workhorse instrument
Value
Value is great, but the price is high enough too.
Manufacturer Support
Didn’t contact regarding this particular instrument
The Wow Factor
Wasn’t surprised. Expected to get quality instrument.

BRIDGE PICKUP NOT WORKING - DEAD ON ARRIVAL. Bass feels great and sounds great with the P pick-ups only. But my $2,000.00 bas should not arrive with a dead pick-up. Extrememly disappointed. Going right back.
