I just bought an American Pro Telecaster a couple of weeks ago. I can't put this guitar down. I am 68 years old and have been a Gibson purist for most of my life. I currently have a Les Paul Traditional, a Midtown Custom, and an ES 335. I first noticed just how light it was. It sounds and plays like nothing that I have played for quite some time. I feel that I owe Leo Fender an apology for never owning a Fender.

Simply FANTASTIC. My first Fender and I sure did miss out all these years. Being a Gibson person I always seemed to have tunnel vision and thought only of Strats when I thought of Fender and although great sounding and looking guitars they were just very uncomfortable for me for some reason. WELL this Tele is phenomenal plays easy sounds fantastic is a perfect weight and very well balanced. I got the natural finish with maple neck and it is gorgeous the back of the neck is a satin finish which I would love for Gibson to have used on their guitars because it is just the best feeling neck I’ve ever used and I’ve used many. The pick ups are a great combination of traditional sound and current technology. I’ve used this with my Vox AC 10 and 30 let me tell you it is a match made in Heaven but I believe I’m gong to order a Blues Deluxe and see what comes from that pairing. I shopped and compared the different guitars and chose the Tele I compared the different Tele models and came down to 3 all I say is I made the right choice and couldn’t be happier with it. Thanks zZounds and thank you Fender for a great musical package.!

I have a large collection of guitars and they all have that one style or tone that it particularly excels at. I only had one tele and believe it or not it was a squire 50's classic vibe and i must say that guitar had become one of my go to axes. I loved the feel but most of all the history of the tele in general. My wife and kids came to me and wished to get me a new guitar for fathers day after two years of gigging and practicing constantly the cv tele was a little worse for wear. So after a little research and checking out some reviews and videos my pick was the fender american professional series in the butterscotch blonde. And i am so glad i did first of all we ordered it sunday it came today tuesday so it was a day early and is flawless in every aspect the new pick ups are amazing and do it all very well the neck is extremely comfortable the vintage tall frets make string bends in tune a breeze everything down to the case i would not change a thing. It may have some locking tuners in its future but thats a preference thing not a necessity. This axe is worth every cent

Besides it's looks, it has a lot of tone and super comfortable neck. The profile being new, took about a minute to fall in love with. The pickup redesign was thoughtful to the tele players who have a lot of different tones they use. It is a workhorse and will be for a very long time. The frets allow intonation to be accurate from low to high, the tone bleed circuitry is to die for when you are pushing your amp. You will LOVE this guitar. The case is really nice too, super light and protective and even attractive. AIR IT OUT THOUGH! Really terrible chemical smell. Enjoy the H E double hockey sticks out of this Telecaster. Proven to play!

Great guitar, absolutely no faults. The specs say alder? The two tone is an ash body. Having come from an acoustic background, have always played Rosewood or Ebony fretboards, really appreciate the maple! Am considering ordering a similar neck for my American professional HH telecaster! Usually practice thru a super champ combo with a ragin Cajun speaker and perform thru a blues deluxe reissue with a cannabis rex speaker. Or thru both with an ABy pedal. Also have the sienna sunburst sss pro strat and am ordering the hss in same ash,/maple configuration. Probably a 2x12 fender reverb for larger venues when we can get back to work. Having been a Gibson/upper end epiphone fan I really like the fender necks and weight!! Les Pauls are Chubby!! But I have no intention of giving them up either!! Stay healthy, we'll be back out on the road soon, cya there!

First off let me say it's SO much more beautiful in person. The tone is incredible. Being primarily a metal guitarist I've never had pickups like these. Absolutely beautiful on the clean channel. And awesome with a little crunch. Not SO sure it's worth $1500. But I'm happy with it!

"Neck Problems"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars

I have had neck problems from day one. I had the guitar for 3 days and had to set the neck because of a downward bow, next day same thing. I finally got it straight after setting it 4 more times and now the neck looks like a bumpy road with high and low spots making it very hard to set up the string height with out buzz on the low end strings. I think it may be twisted a little bit but can't be sure unless I would take it to a luthier, that I cannot afford now. I called zZounds and they were nice about it and said I could send it back by February 3rd but I ended up in the hospital shortly after New Years and couldn't get home to do that and I also did some upgrades before I went into the hospital like installing Kluson locking tuners, new pickguard, and Fender straplocks. I am sure that this is just a 1 in a thousand problem but when it happens to you it makes it a depressing situation and I don't know what to do now.
