I have always played a Precision but with age thought about switching Jazz thinner neck for an easier play. This bass came out of the box ready to play, no adjustments, nothing. It plays great, it sounds really good and it was a great price. Would recommend to anyone.

Musical Background:

Playing 30 yrs. Semi-pro

Musical Style:

Rock, blues, classic rock, some country

I purchased the American Special on the pay as you play program, and couldn't be happier, I have played for 27 years, and been wanting an American Made Fender, this is the one I have been hoping for, the neck is small for my small fingers to walk all over it, the tone is wonderful, I play through a Fender Rumble 350, I have read some unfavorable reviews about the greasebucket tone knob, but I have no problem with it. I get very good low end and tight kick on the mid's and high end. You won't go wrong with this beauty,(I bought the red with black pick guard), I get lots of compliments how beautiful it looks.

Musical Background:

27 years playing bass, i have a 5 string Schecter and the Fender Jazz bass, i am completely content with my gear.

Musical Style:

Metal, classic and modern rock, country and blues.

I love the feel and sound of the bass. The finish is smooth and the neck is nice and slim. Greasebucket is ok, gives it some variance, but I don't use it as much. But all in all, this bass is well built and sounds great.
