This thing is amazing! I use this primarily to effect synthesizers. If you are a keyboardist you will be very very happy to have this little guy sitting up on top of whatever it is you're playing. Very clean and warm, hardly any digital 'zippering' going on. This pedal is a dream. The harmonizer and reverb algorithms are why I bought it, but all the others hold their own. I use this with a Moog MF104m and I would say even the delay algorithms could stand up to it's analog counterparts. Despite the simplicity of design, this pedal has some optimizations for performance, including the 'hot knob' function, expression pedal input, and the ability to program your effects chain song-by-song via midi. In the recording studio... this pedal has amazed everyone who has heard it. Construction is all-metal and top notch quality. Built to last. My only issue has been registering my pedal using the H9Control program. I was not able to connect to the Eventide server and as such, was not able to reg my pedal. Without registration and an internet connection, you will not be able to gain access to your H9 Using the convenient GUI software.

Thank you Zzounds for helping me obtain this pedal without all the money up front. Best thing to happen to my pedal board in a long time. The fidelity of Eventide is out standing. The expression pedal makes it way more interactive than without. Make sure you try it with that. I love the flexibility/programmability of it. Endless tweakability and then you can put everything in any order with the editor software. Just great stuff. Couldn't be happier.

Love this pedal. Tried all 99 presets with Fender 65 Custom Shop Strat through a all-tube Marshall 5 amp stock w/ single Celestion 10in with overdrive pedals in front of the H9. The sound is excellent - world class. It would definitely sound better in stereo. Not much flanger or phaser sounds. Great chorus and reverb and tremolo sounds. Great Batman movie preset and Steve Vai presets. You should really turn up your amp or studio monitors to hear the details and nuances. Heard Eventide is going to make a Android app soon instead of just for Apple IOS devices. I'm pretty satisfied just using it as a stand alone unit. Haven't used the Windows H9 control yet. I don't have an IOS device. Heard there are 33 algorithms including the 16 already included. They're $19.99 each plus the first one is free for H9 purchasers. It's like a stompbox for $19.99. A bargain I think. Never have I heard this world class, pro world tour musical sound from any guitar pedal or effects unit. With less effected presets, distortion sounds good, but with the really movie soundtrack type presets, the distortion/overdrive should be minimal or just off. Pedal knob and buttons and switches feel solid and well made in the thick white painted steel body over black plastic. I don't care that it's assembled in China, designed in New Jersey. It's worth the money for me. I would have to spend much more to get that Hollywood Blockbuster original score sound with other crap out there. This pedal is great for delays, tremolos, reverb, synth, & echo sounds. Don't know about the purchasable algorithms through IOS devices.

I thought it was digital bleh from hearing the presets. When I started tweaking the imaginary knobs with my phone, I found some very interesting and usable sounds. I maybe like it more with synth than guitar. It brings a mono synth to life in the mix. It dances as it should, unpredictably. I think I’m gonna keep it.
