This bass is a very high quality instrument from start to finish! Great, versatile tone, fabulous looks, and very smooth playing straight out of the box! High Points: gorgeous quilted maple finish, very nice neck, fretboard, hardware(gotoh) very smooth, user friendly. Great tone control, although I would prefer a 3 band EQ (easy fix with pre swap), factory HSC is very high quality. Overall this axe is as nice as alot of custom shop basses, at not so "custom shop" price! Low points: Duncan pre and p/u's leave a little to be desired, but they're definitely not bad at all. Strap pegs have no felt under them, but that too is a very easy fix.

After 32 years of playing bass, someone has finally bridged the gap between high quality and great value! This bass played great right out of the box, but will be phenomenal with very minor set up. Fit and and finish is superb. Tone is very versitile, and you have very usabale controls to blend in your desired sound. The Gotoh hardware looks very nice with easy, smooth and accurate tuner operation as well as easy bridge adjustment. Comes with VERY NICE hard shell case bearing the ESP logo, with very roomy, plush internal compartment. BTW, this thing is eye candy too!Downsides: There is a moderate hum when rolling p/u blend knob off of dead center between neck and bridge p/u. Not gonna be a deal breaker at all, but in the studio it could present a small issue. I would probably rewire to V,V,T,B configuration. ****manufacturer support was given 4 ONLY because I havent had to use them yet****
