Feature:
Grover tuners, tune-o-matic bridge, two volume and one tone, 3-way toggle switch, Earvana nut. The Grover tuners pretty much keep the guitar in tune at all times, and I much rather prefer the two-volume-one-tone knob set up over the two-volume-two-tone set up seen on the Les Pauls. The flamed maple top is awesome.
Quality:
I had bought mine used (previous owner had it for about 3-4 weeks), but the quality of this guitar is still very good. The glossy finish is almost perfect (I could spot a blemish on the head, but it's hardly noticeable) and one of the strap buttons were loose, but otherwise, it is very well made guitar. I am planning to get it properly set up, however, as there is some string buzz on the 5th and 6th strings.
Value:
Again, as I had bought mine used (with the ESP hardshell case), the value was terrific! But, even then, the price is still great for a well made guitar. The way that this thing was built and finished rivals more expensive guitars. And it sounds and plays just as well...even better, in my opinion.
Desirability:
It has the classic Les Paul shape, but to me, it looks sharper than a Les Paul. The finish on mine, Tobacco Sunburst, is gorgeous. I had seen pictures from the internet, but when I saw it at my local store, it looked even better in real life than in pics. The flamed maple top combined with that particular finish is absolutely stunning...better than any Les Paul Custom from Epiphone.
Sound:
The sound is excellent. I love how the 59 sounds on a clean and slightly distorted setting, perfect for jazz, blues, rock, and other types of genres. The sound is slightly muddy when using high gain though. The JB is also very good on a clean setting, but I tend to use it for distorted rock and metal riffs and it sounds just about perfect. I haven't played a guitar with active pickups yet and I am considering swapping out the JB/59 for a set of EMGs, but I think that will be a very hard decision for me.
Support:
Have not had to deal with the company as of yet.
Overall:
I've been playing for about 4 years and my last electric was an Epiphone Les Paul Special II, so this guitar is a huge improvement over my old one. I've had the opportunity to play both Epiphone's and Gibson's Les Pauls, and I believe that this guitar easily rivals those guitars. If you are looking for a Les Paul-style guitar, you should strongly consider this ESP.
