I was using a JHS modded Soul Food as my OD, but needed more cajones to my tone. So I bit the bullet on the EQD Gray Channel. The JHS Soul Food is terrific as a transparent boost, but not for dirty sounds. Enter the Gray Channel - I have already found my thick rhythm sound on the Green channel and a boosted lead sound on the Red channel in literally 15 mins of fooling around. It's not clean but it rips. If I need clean boost I'll just set the Green or Red channel to No Diode and it cleans up pretty well. This is the OD I was looking for, worth a buy if you are looking for a great OD with a plethora of tones!!

This is one of the finest overdrive pedals I've tried and is now an essential part of my pedalboard. This pedal has so many tonal variations that it really is the only overdrive you may need. Between the multiple different clipping voices and the two switchable channels, there is so much that can be achieved. The gain controls offer a really wide sweep so you can do anything from just mild breakup to all out distortion, so it really should be called an Overdrive/Distortion. My ONLY critique is I would have liked a Tone control as the pedal does warm up your sound a bit which would be nice to have a bit more control over, but it is a small complaint on what is overall a fantastic pedal.
