Sound: Crystal clear cleans, similar to a Strat, but a bit darker. Very smooth and creamy overdrive and distortion. It can do high gain, but gets a bit noisy. Feature: The wraparound bridge adds to the vintage look, but I prefer having more control. I wasn't sure what to make of the ivory "button" tuners, but they have worked well. It came with a nice gig bag, but that's now in the closet with the rest of the complimentary gig bags I've gotten over the years. Quality: When you bought an Epiphone 20 years ago, you expected to find at least one defect, if not more. A knob that didn't work, frets wiggling around, a flaw in the finish. I've bought 5 Ephiphones in the last 2 or 3 years, and have not found a single defect. Value: I kind of feel guilty for only paying what I did. I almost feel like I owe Epiphone some money. I'm not going to give them any, though. The Wow Factor: The look of this guitar with the TV Yellow finish is what sold me on it. It has a very vintage look and it reminds me of my childhood in the 70s. The fact that it sounds and plays well was a bonus. Overall: I love guitars. I have a lot of them, and I always want more. Unfortunately, I can't afford a room full of $1000+ guitars. So, when I saw this guitar (in TV Yellow), for this price, I had to have it. I don't expect much from $400 guitars, but this one surprised me. I knew P90s in an SG would sound good, but what I didn't expect was a very comfortable neck, decent tuning stability, and so much tone control. Not to mention a flawless finish. Epiphone has certainly come a long way since the ones I bought in the late 80s.

Sound: Great sound! Creamy, but with bite.Harmonics, great sustain. Feature: 2 tone,2 volume. The wrap around bridge gives the guitar a clean look. The white finish just looks plain cool. Ease of Use: The neck is fast.Plays like butter. Quality: The fit,& finish are all real good. There are no sharp edges,or any quality issues. Value: This guitar is definitely worth the price. It has the tone& playability of a Les Paul without the weight problem. Manufacturer Support: No problems with the guitar,so no contact with Epiphone. The Wow Factor: The real appeal of this guitar is the simplicity.A reproduction of the first SG's.True to its roots. Overall: I'm really a Strat guy,but I love the way this thing plays. The tone has a wide range.Clean to all out crunch.Another thing that really impresses me is that the guitar is so light. You can play all day without any strain on your shoulder.

Overall: With a minor setup, this guitar plays like a monster. It literally nails Pete's tone from the Leeds/Wight days, and has some amazing sustain. The first one I got had very bad QC issues and was sent back for a replacement, the replacement was as close to perfect as you could want. A minor truss-rod adjustment, slight intonation, a string change and it was ready to rock. I am nearly convinced the P90's in this guitar are the same Alnico V's that are in the Gibson Townshend 50th anniversary model, but have no way to prove that. The finish was amazing (Alpine White), tuners were smooth and accurate, and it's so nice to have a light guitar that has this much power. Cheers Epi, you made a winner.

Overall: I've been researching guitars with p90 pickups when this little beauty came along. I picked up a white one and took it to my shop man; he was quite impressed and it needed no work done to it. Now its my main guitar; the neck pickup really sings and the bridge pickup is sweet and mellow. The neck has good action and its size fits my hand perfectly. What more could I ask for? I rated mfg. support low because I have not needed any, but anticipate no problems should I have to contact them.

Sound: P 90`s sound great if they are installed in a decent piece of wood so... Feature: The only features are bad features. Ease of Use: Never could use it. Quality: Absolute junk Value: The P 90 pick-ups are the only thing of any value at all. Manufacturer Support: I called to report to Gibson of this less than sub standard guitar. The told me to send it in and they would send me another one...WHAT?? Never again. The Wow Factor: LOL Overall: I don`t know what guitars all these others have experience in using but this guitar is the worst guitar I`ve ever bought. In fact I tried as hard as I could to set it up and I have 20 years of experience doing just that but I just could not do it. The neck is flimsy, the fretboard very dry and flakey, the frets are uneven and undressed, the tuners will not keep the guitar tuned, the top nut is not dressed, the bridge and tail piece were set up at a touch over 5/16ths of an inch at the 12th fret, there was no bow in the neck and it was a struggle to ever get any into the neck, the body wood feels like plastic and the control knobs will not stay straight. This is a shameful guitar that is not worth 50 bucks.
