There is something about the higher end alnico speakers that makes them different than ceramics or neos. Whether this difference is better is in the ear of the beholder. The Red Fang transformed my Super Champ X2 into something very special and I liked the amp with the stock speaker as well. Needless to say the Vox voicings sound amazing with the Red Fang. The 65 Deluxe sounds like a true beefy 12" speaker with the RF. Every frequency comes alive with this speaker. The lows are articulate and very present with no mush or farting. The highs are clear and chimey sparkling. The mids are present, but not scooped or "middy". With the price back down under the 200.00 mark this speaker is a great value. I have heard the comparisons with celestion gold and blue and I think the RF has a superior tonal (frequency) spread. The bass response makes those speakers sound "girly".I love this speaker. I own a 10" one.
