Have you seen the cost of a JBL driver rated at half the power?

Desirability:
Because of the obvious craftsmanship and of course the heat sink, this is by far the most appealing (visually) woofer out there.

Sound:
I jsut reloaded my Yorkville Elite 2 x 18 subs with these drivers which have been in operation for about a month now. In a word...awesome. These monsters need power though. In fact, to push them properly I use the QSC RMX2450 power amp in bridged mono 2500 watts @ 4 ohms. You can barely stand in front of these now.
