I wanted lighter strings for my Ibanez electric/acoutic guitar but the lightest the music store I bought them at had, was a medium gauge with the high E string being a 12. I prefer a 10 gauge on the high E. I did like the feel of the strings and they did keep the tone day in day out for a lot longer than any other strings I've used. My hands Sweat a lot when I'm cooking and that becomes a problem because, as you said, it causes strings to go dead and corroded. The only sound that rings true and makes me feel in the mood for jamming is, a fresh set of strings. That can get expensive in my case. But I do love that sound a new set of strings can only make, but now there's elxir stringsc and it is a break through.
