Feature:
You can connect two sound sources at the same time, volume, treble and bass control, bass enhancer, headphone output. What do you want more ?
Quality:
When you see or hold these speakers the first time you immediately realize that they are of high quality, but this is to be expected. After all, Edirol belongs to the Roland company.
Value:
For that price you simply can not get anything better
Desirability:
I highly recommend the Edirol MA7, Looks are not important. Looks before quality ? - we leave this to the music industrie. They already provide us with enough acts where looks are more important than quality and sound. But then - these speakers look look AND sound better than most of the by the music industrie promoted acts. (If you do not play this kind of plastic music through them that is)
Sound:
You will be pleasantly surprised how good these little active speakers sound. Although I heard some people complaining about the bass response of these speakers, but I do not understand why. Even without the build in bass-enhancer engaged, these speakers deliver a powerful and clear bass sound. Also the mids and highs, all sounds crystal clear and even, unbelievable for such small speakers. There is no volume problem, - it is stated these are 7 watts per side, but they seem to be rather loud 7 watts. I can imagine that even if you place these speakers in a really big room, (NOW you need the bass enhancer) the volume of these speakers won´t let you down. They are of course not professional studio monitors, you can´t get pro gear for that price, but for what they are, I highly recommend the Edirol MA7
Ease of Use:
Yes, easy to use, just switch off while making cable connections
Support:
I do not know, but have heard good - so I give it a 8
Overall:
I am sometimes doing on-location recordings and I needed a small and transportable pair of active speakers to enable customers a quick listen to the recording. First I thought to get the SM Studiopro 3 - they cost the same but are two-way speakers compared to the Edirol that has only one woofer. But on second thoughts I decided to get the Edirols purely because of Rolands reputation of quality. Also I imagine to build a two way speaker for the same price, there must be a catch somewhere, - this usually is in terms of quality.
