"Bassman's bass amp"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

The tone, the power, the features.
Sound
It's all about the tone. Very reliable, however, follow the instructions because this amp draws alot of power. Plug it into its own 15 amp circuit to get the full tone. Unbelievable tone.
Features
Adjustable DI out so the PA gets the same tone characteristics as your stage rig. Biult in compresssor. Parametric eq. Everything a bass player needs to to get the tone. Also tube drive.
Ease of Use
The instructions and LED lights are very helpful in setting your amp levels.
Quality
Biult tough but buy rack case. Why spend the money, love it and then drop it by accident.
Value
Hi resale value. You get what you pay for. Blows away your Hartkes and GKs and has more tone possibilities than Ampeg. Better than Aguilar and SWR in my opinion. You can get snap and great tone from a 4x10 or 2x12 and then add a 1x15 or 1x18 (all Eden of course) to get a ballsy low end. The one amp you will not regret.
Manufacturer Support
Did not have to deal with support.
The Wow Factor
Old school boutique look without the boutique attitude.

I hope it lasts for 10 years or more.
Sound
This amp can change sound character with a slight turn of a knob. Goes from modern to old school with ease.
Features
I need some rack ears for it, they should be included. I like the compression on the unit, works well.
Ease of Use
Easy to operate after getting familiar with what things do.
Quality
Everything works very well. All adjustment knobs are very responsive.
Value
Its above average in price but abouve average in sound as well.
Manufacturer Support
Don't know. Have not had to use them.
The Wow Factor

"Fantastic Head. Isn't that what you wanted?"

It's an Eden, so it sounds amazing. Nice and fat with plenty of warmth and clarity. This is also the loudest 500 watts I've ever heard. It really is shocking how loud this thing can get. In a not particularly sound-absorbing rehearsal space, getting blasted by a Fender twin on one side, and a hard-hitting drummer on the other, this amp kicks along without breaking a sweat at 12 o'clock on the master volume with either a pair of Nemesis 2x10" cabs, or a D212XST. Can't say how it will do on a gig yet, but this isn't my first Eden. I expect it to rock massively. One point of advice: This amplifier is NOT safe for 2 ohm operation. The website says so, but Eden says no way. 10 years ago, yes. Now? No. I really have to fault Eden for omitting a mute button. Why have a tuner output at all if there's no way to mute the amp and tune silently? That's beyond stupid, especially for someone like me who doesn't want anything in the signal chain between the bass and the amp. Furthermore, some of us do bring more than one instrument to a gig. I guess we're just expected to remember our exact gain/volume settings every time we need to tune or unplug? Not a great concept on an Eden amp, which is known for having very sensitive controls. Other than the moronic lack of a mute button, I love this amp.

In all the {30 plus} years I,ve played Bass my favorite amp heads are old SWR SM400 pre Fender and my recent purchase of my new Eden WT550 Traveler Bass Head from Zzounds. This head is awesome and along with my Pedulla MVP 5 Bass guitar, the tone is excellent through my SWR 410 Goliath III.. No matter what style of music you play the Eden WT550 will deliver for sure. I just wish I had known about Zzounds and their "Play as You Pay" plan long ago in the 70's and 80's, it would have made things much easier.. Thanks! to all the staff and employee's at Zzounds and their 45 days return policy can't be beat.

This will be the last bass head I will ever buy...And if by some chance I need to buy another amp, it will be an Eden...
Sound
No bass amp out there sounds like an Eden...Having owned an Eden Nemesis NA650 in the past, it was time to go for the "gold" and invest in their WT Series...Playing mostly funk/slap and rock, this amp delivers the tonal spectrum I like the most...Hands down the best sounding amp in this price range...No regrets whatsoever...
Features
Everything a bass player needs is built right in...A headphone out for practicing at home, a "recording out" for studio work or to send a signal to a mixing board for larger venues, switchable auto compression and an E.Q. that can dial in any tone you desire...And this beast is LOUD!!! I'm playing it though an SWR Goliath SR and it shakes the walls...
Ease of Use
Not one useless bell or whistle on this amp...Everything is perfectly arranged for an easy setup and you'll soon find yourself immersed in how many great tones this amp can deliver...
Quality
There's a story on the Eden website about an Eden amp that was the victim of a nasty home studio fire, and after everything in the studio was turned to ash, the Eden amp still worked...
Value
It's well worth the money...It's made here in America, so I feel good about supporting this company...
Manufacturer Support
When I owned my Nemesis, I had a question about replacing the foot switch because mine was stolen...They sent me a new one, free of charge when they didn't have to...I would say their customer support is top notch...
The Wow Factor
It's a great looking amp with the perfect amount of features...
