"these strings are great if you have the right equipment to handle them....no offense but if you have to ask yourself if you have" submitted May 31, 2011
Sound:
well i put theses strings on my Ibanez Gio GRZ20Z with King Kerry EMG Signature Pickups, and i use AMplitube on my ipod as an amp along with an Analog Equalizer, and these strings sound pretty amazing. im used to thin strings and i decided i need some heavier ones, so i can braoden my horizon of playing metal, and boy these gave me what i was looking for. the .60 guage string is kind of extreme, but i got used to it, although the strings are thick, harmonics are no problem for these strings, but the most difficult thing to do with these strings is figuring out what tuning to put your guitar in, ive heard people put these in Standard (EADGBe), but with a .60 guage string, i think that is impossible, but mine is in Drop C (CGCFAD) and it sounds very good, i tried drop B (BF#BEG#C#) and Drop A(AEADF#B) and they sounded very heavy but oo Bassy for my liking, but i play some Breaking Benjamin, Killswitch Engage, and Saliva with these strings and it sounds amazing, and if you into Metalcore like IKTPQ or BMTH then drop B and these strings is all you need, although, i highly recommend ACTIVE PICKUPS, if not then i advise for you to have an awesome amp to handle these beasts of strings.
Feature:
no accessories, except for warning labels and blah blah blah....NIckel Strings, thats all you get, but what you get from them is up to you and your fingers.
Ease of Use:
it sounds great out of the box, but STRETCH YOUR STRINGS, i have been stretching mine for three days now and they still seem to tihgt, but with time they will be broken in, and try to clean them everyday to keep the tone up, when the tone is gone, you have nothing left.
Quality:
the product is made very well, i like these strings, but because they are so thick there is quite a bit of finger noise, like when you slide your fingers on the fretboard, it will make a buzzing sound, but that is a natural side effect for most heavy strings, i think.
Value:
the price for these strings is awesome, when i buy strings in town they are $8 for a pack of SUper Slinks, that is robbery!, but i got these strings for a little less than $5
Manufacturer Support:
i have no idea what the support of this product is besides Zakk Wylde supporting them so i guess thats enough for me....
The Wow Factor:
well if you get off on the most amazing metal sound ever, than these strings are for you, but it also falls into the type of equipment you have aswell, if you have a crappy amp, crappy guitar, crappy pickups, or if you string your gutiar crappy-ly then you will get a bad sound...
Overall:
i bought four packs of these strings so im guessing i will die before i use up all four packs

Overall:
overall these strings are GREAT!!! they are very tough and can withstand the hardest playing ever. The sound is also very good and also are high tension strings and i love the sound of them. The only bad parts about these strings is that they are a pain in the butt to put on, but what strings arnt? And they are a little over priced in my opinion but hey, I would pay 30$ for these strings! if you are looking into buying them OR hesitating to buy them, then dont worry about it DO IT!!!it is worth it...BUY THEM!!
