When these were first installed, they stayed tuned for some time, and during setup of the bass, the required very little retuning. That's a first for me. These have less tension than some stainless steel rounds I've tried, need a slight adjustment to loosen the truss rod. They feel "soft", easier to play than some strings. The only odd thing was the A string's saddle had to be move forward to about the same position as the G string's saddle. Usually that is move back, more so as the string gauges increase. It did intonate, though, so not a problem. Just a bit unusual. These seem to have less "fret clack" than my previous strings (also were stainless steel). Maybe that's because they're easier to play, being softer strings. And these are .045 - .105, too, but feel like a lighter gauge. Slapping requires much less effort than the last strings I had, but they don't make my bad technique any better :) Still need lots of practice on that... Oh, and they sound nice too.
