Dean Stealth Floyd FM Electric Guitar (with Case)

This Dean axe's incredible body design has attitude, and its powerful Seymour Duncan Dimebucker and USA DMT DimeTime humbuckers give it crushing tone.

Awesome. Just purely and simply awesome. I've always drooled over this axe and when I found this website and the payments plans I was ordering right away. Guitar came quick and was packaged nicely. The pictures really don't do the guitar justice. You just gotta see it in person it is beautiful down to the bone. I put my preferred strings on it right away and started jamming. The sound is incredible although I'll probably end up putting a Bill Lawrence L500XL in it but that's just me. I own a Dixie Rebel Dime ml and haven't touched it since I bought this DimeSlime. The Floyd Rose is very nice the black hardware and speed knobs really make the paint job stand out. Stop reading this already and just buy it. It's Dimebag's favorite axe in Stealth model. Enough said. Get yours now and getcha pull!

"what you'd expect"

Received my Dean stealth recently and was surprised when I opened the box. POSITIVES: Visually the stock pictures don't do it justice, it is a BEAUTIFUL flame top. Intonation and action were excellent out of the box, obviously setup by someone who knows what they're doing. Frets are smooth no sharp edges in any way. Floyd hasn't disappointed and comes back to tune after crazy drops and pulls. Shipping was fast and zzounds doesn't disappoint. The case that is supplied with the guitar is massive and durable, plenty of space for your accessories. Made in Korea and the quality shows.NEGATIVES: At first feel the guitar is way lighter than expected (weight) and it almost feels cheap if you don't know better (it's not). The physical size of the body is much bigger than I thought, in comparison it's roughly 8" longer than my LTD rb-1005sm bass (34" scale). Because of it's size I can't sit it on a floor stand it has to sit on a wall hanger (minor inconvenience). Some things you'd like to see on guitars in this price range: binding, body contours, use of more exotic materials.OVERALL: If you're a Pantera or Dimebag fan you can't buy a nicer slime-colored guitar from the factory. Will it play every style as well as others? no. Will it shred Pantera like nobody's business? YES

I knew I was going to receive a nice guitar but this review is more of a kudos to zZounds for shipping it to Alaska in a timely manner and absolutely damage free! I have had a dozen Guitars shipped to me and this one was by far the best packaging and the Guitar was playable upon opening. Now for the Guitar, I think Dean has always payed a bit more attention to detail in this price range and the Stealth has its own attitude for an ML style guitar. The neck appears to be a bit wider and is thicker so it is a benders and sustain lovers dream, even with the Floyd Rose. This is one of the only Guitars in my collection that I would buy two of just in case they become rare so I can have a spare!

"Dean Dimeslime Stealth"

Dime would have been proud of this one, It's amazing. The V neck is smooth and plays like butter, the action was nicely set up right out of the box. The electronics are solid and the dimebucker really tears it up. The floyd seems and feels pretty top notch as well, stays in tune through any abuse I put it through. The finish is really amazing with the maple flame bright green slime. I love it, worth every penny.

You can tell that someone was behind every little process in building this beautiful instrument. The neck is a slick as water, the action and everything is set up perfectly, Everything about this guitar just feel premium about it. The ebony fretboard. The paintjob. Down to the extra polish they gave the inlays for a silky touch. I do wish they had stuck with the original stealth headstock. But I can understand using the Razorback. But always wanted one of these high-end Dimebag guitars (I got a Dean from Hell & a basic Razorback) and thanks to zZounds I was able to do it without breaking the bank.

Strap yourselves in, this is a long and in depth review. It is a great guitar overall. The weight of it is a bit lighter than I expected, but not too much to where it feels cheap. When sitting it can be neck heavy but since it is an Explorer style guitar, your arm helps counteract this. It is comfortable for classical/Flying V sitting. The pickups are high output and have a nice depth to them(especially the neck pickup). The sound for clean is very deep for the DMT designed neck pickup, a nice twang for the middle position, and very in your face for the SH-13(Dimebucker) bridge pickup. When you throw some distortion in the mix, then the guitar unleashes some great saturated sounds. The neck is still deep and has a nice smooth attack, the middle is nothing to special it's just a combination of both sounds, but the bridge is very much in your face and is not subtle at all. It is nice and saturated to where it gives an extra boost to your sound. It is a very bass and treble focused pickup with a mid scoop naturally. I have another Dean guitar with a TB(SH)-5 pickup and it sounds similar to the SH-13(Dimebucker) but the TB-5 is a more tight sounding and an overall flat sounding pickup compared to the Dimebucker. The Dimebucker shines when you have the bass and treble up on your amp and the mids scooped, where it will tear through anything! Alright, enough about pickups and sound. The thin/veneer(?) maple top is very beautiful, it pops well in the sunlight or other bright blueish light source. The Floyd Rose 1000 is great and stays in tune very well. A nice touch is the DBD traction knobs that are grippy. The only issues that you might run into is the setup and some QC, the action was high(3.2mm) and I had to adjust it. After 2 hours of patience and working on the Floyd, I currently have it to my personal preference(1.8 - 1.4mm). For the QC, there were some parts of the finish that chipped, a small black spot of paint near the neck pickup, and 2 long scratches on both sides of the neck at the 19th fret. I have some other QC issues with my other Dean guitar, so yours probably won't be as bad as mine. Congratulations! You have reached the end of my review. My final thoughts is that it is a nice guitar that suits my needs with the stuff that I have mentioned and maybe this review might help you in considering purchasing this great instrument.

"Great all around metal guitar"

I got my dime slime about 2 weeks ago. I have a few razorbacks, shards, two tone, bumble. I have a split tail #53 out of 100 and a ltd snakebyte and this is my favorite all around. It’s not too bright in the mid range like my shards is. Kind of a mix between my two tone and snakebyte. I love the neck on these dean guitars that dime designed. Super fast necks that are easy to get around on. Defiantly recommend. Guitar showed up within I think 4 days. Couple little flaws from the factory around the neck pickup inside when I looked but nothing major.
