Dixon 709 Cymbal Boom Stand

Solid drum hardware doesn't have to break the bank. This heavy-weight, double-braced cymbal boom stand is double chrome plated for durability and stability.

"Very Lightweight"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It could be heavier duty, but all in all, it is what you pay for, a boom stand.
Sound
It will allow you to tighten your cymbals down, but if you like them loose, the nut loosens off.
Features
The nuts come loose easily and the boom arm will fall. You really have to tighten it.
Ease of Use
Sets up very quickly.
Quality
Very wobbly for heavier cymbals if the boom arm is too far out. Can be used as a striaght stand tho.
Value
Despite its shortcomings, its very good for the price. I only paid 30 bucks for it at my store.
Manufacturer Support
Dixon has a support team that replies to e-mails you send.
The Wow Factor
IF you need a stand to get the job done, this is the stand for you

The stand is a good value at the price. But it is very light weight and if you extend the boom to far or have too large a cymbal it will fall over. It is good for entry level but if you really rock out you will be better off spending a little more money and get a quality heavy duty stand.

"I love it, not in love with it."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
There isn't a single thing wrong with it, and being lightweight it's easy to take my set to friends houses. If you're a beginning drummer or even a few years into it then this should do a sufficient job so long as you treat it right.
Features
As far as features go this cymbal only has the convertible straight to boom.
Ease of Use
Easy to set up and take down, pretty simple. However adjusting it can be a pain, if you're a real stickler about where your cymbals are then take the money to buy something better, however so long as you tighten it well the only thing you'll have to worry about is balance.
Quality
I haven't has mine for even a year yet, but so far they look pretty much new, they've held up fine. If you're going for a beefy look on your kit then avoid this stand, it has more thin arms, however once again, they hold up perfectly. I'm broke, so I can't be picky.
Value
It's price may be a little too much for being one of the low end cymbal stands on the market, but I love this stand. It gets the job done without fail, so I'm happy.

I play a lot.

"Cheap stand for cheap drummers"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Features
The"metal on meta"l aspect of how this is held together is a serious flaw that leads to premature failure.
Quality
The lower connection to the legs fell apart the first time I used it on stage, with only about 10 hours play time on it. The "double chrome finish" wears off on the moving parts, the nuts strip easily, not made for people who actually play gigs and need to be able to set up and tear down again and again.
Value
I bought it because it was the cheapest stand at the store. There's a reason it's so cheap.
The Wow Factor
Looks just like what it is, a cheap boom stand. If you need this for a working kit, spend the extra money for a better one.
