DiMarzio DP207 Dropsonic Humbucker Pickup

The new DiMarzio Dropsonic is a high-output bridge humbucker designed for the extended low end and heavy chords that dropped tuning delivers, plus serious treble response for single-note solos. The DropSonic isn't just a one-sound pickup, either. Quality:
Solid construction.

Value:
It's worth every penny.

Sound:
It has a great "fat" tone, without any mud. Good even tone, you can hear each string ring and cut. A must for alternate tunings. I turned it around so the bar is facing the neck. I also placed a 560pF capacitor across the hot leads of the volume pot.

Overall:
It sounds thick and punchy, yet clean bright and full. I put it at the bride position of my '83 Flying V. I'm using a Marshall 2203, 100-watt head for amplification and an old English Laney 4X12 cabinet. It responds very well with my gear.
