Sound: I play this through a Fender Deluxe and a Boss EQ pedal, which definitely helps fatten up the sound. The first time i tried it I was blown away, especially since I have gone through numerous other distortions with bigger reputations. It works great live and what really impressed me was the sensititvity and response to lighter or heavier attack. I use an unmodified 57 reissue Strat and I can get distortions ranging from Stevie Ray to AC-DC. Feature: The only knob that would make this better is a mid control. Other than that it's great overall and can take a beating. Ease of Use: It can't get easier. Quality: This thing seems bullet proof and I've been gigging steadily with it for over 2 yrs. now. My only complaint is it's a bit noisey but, hey I'm using single coils. Value: For 50 bucks I don't think there is a better distortion pedal out there. I'm probably going to buy another so I can have to two levels of gain...Steve Ray and Led Zeppelin and everything in between that you get with the picking responsiveness. Manufacturer Support: Had no need for support. The Wow Factor: Like I said, I'm probably going to add another to my setup. Overall: I'm surprised more people aren't using this but that's okay 'cause I'd rather sound better than them anyway.

Sound: The sound is pretty much what I've been searching for the last 6 years. Obviously, the Gain knob changes the screamin' of the overdrive. The sound of the gain fully opened is raw and, depending on the low and high settings, sharp or warm, and not the eardeafening grunt you get on, lets say the Digitech Death Metal. Feature: The knobs are all there except for one, the mid knob. You can still tweak the low and high knobs so that you get al mid tone, but I wish there just was a mid. Ease of Use: This pedal is easy as in, even I know how it works! Quality: There is no flaw what so-ever. The paintjob is realy nice two, sparkling blue! Value: I bought my Screamer combined with a original Dunlop Crybaby (recommendation!) and spent a total of €140,- (about $170,-), which is not a bad price! Manufacturer Support: I wouldn't know, for my pedal never let's me down! The Wow Factor: The lay-out is magnificent, paintjob (as i said) really nice and the overall shape is not bad! Overall: The only overdrive/destortion pedal I might consider in buying, apart from this one, is the Dunlop Fuzz-face. But that's just because of it's amazing apeal to me as a Hendrix fan. (Buy this one!)

Sound: it's a awsome pedal with lots of gain to go around. I use it with my ibanez rg320fm, and my marshall vs232 in the effects loop. the only thing that would make this pedal better is if you could have 2 presets 1 for lead and 1 for rythum. the only other thing that I can think of is that I wish it had a mid knob. this is because I like to have a mid boost with my distortion with out having to turn my knobs on my clean channel. most all the songs I write are very deep. the ibanez rg320fm is kept tuned half a step down dropped D Feature: i wish it had a mid knob Ease of Use: its very simple. plug and play Quality: I just bought it yesterday so as far as I know the quality is good Value: best blues overdrive for the money Manufacturer Support: never dealt with digitech Overall: greatest overall blues overdrive pedal

Sound: It responds to my playing. The more you dig, the more more it reacts. VERY TUBEY Feature: The fact that it is very clear sounding and has that bass knob Ease of Use: Very easy to use Quality: Excellent quality Value: Very valuable The Wow Factor: Well, when I closely matched the old Santana records, I was blown away. Overall: I really like this little gem. Electronically, it is basically a "Blues Driver" clone. The main differences are that the Screamin' Blues is brighter and clearer and has an added Bass control knob. That being said, The Screamin' Blues is actually less harsh than the Blues Driver. In a low gain setting, The Screamin' Blues sounds very much like Keith Richard's rhythm tone. Also very reminiscent of Dave Gilmour's lead sound in "Another Brick in the Wall, pt II".Mid-Gain= intro to Floyd's "Have a Cigar". At full gain, it sounds like a Twin Reverb cranked all the way with its channels joined. To get an idea of how this pedal sounds, take a listen to Santana's "Singing Winds, Crying Beasts". That is the sort of sound that you would expect from the Screamin' Blues at full gain. For those that say it is not transparent, IT IS TRANSPARENT, in a Blues Driver, Tube Driver, Colorsound Powerboost kind of way. As a booster, it works great. I use it to boost a "Civil War" Sovtek Big Muff Pi. Properly used like so, gives the Muff a smoother and slightly more aggressive sound. It does not change the sound, just adds to it, lives it alone or takes away (which is what a booster is supposed to do). If you are short on cash, It is a superb replacement for a Blues Driver, a Tube Driver or a Colorsound Powerboost (I swear it is that good!) Obviously, I am not a newbie. I have been playing for 16 years, and I know what is good and what is bad. I play mainly Fenders and Gibsons. With humbuckers, it is early old-school Santana/Schon territory. With Single coils it takes you to the realm of Dave Gilmour. The only downside is that it hisses somewhat. The buffer is pretty ok. Does not suck your tone.

Sound: Experienced blues and rock players who demand quality sound & playability know that it can't be had with these low-level, paltry stomp's that Digitech and Boss put out. This pedal is no differnt .... non-transparent, low-grade circuitry; no dynamics; ZERO harmonic content; .... the "Blah" factor is high. SAVE your hard-earned $'s and buy quality ... you'll be ahead in the end. Fulltone, Menatone, Barber, Xotic, T-Rex .... you get what you pay for. Feature: Dial layout looks good ...... until you play it. Ease of Use: Plug-n-Play. Quality: Long-term....who knows. I'll give 'em the benefit of the doubt with a middle rating. Value: "Value" is LOW ..... don't rate "value" on price ... rate it on WHAT YOU GET for your money. When it comes to making music, the "value" is based on what comes out. These low-tier, low-grade pedals have very little value in terms of making quality music. The Wow Factor: Nope. Overall: Digitech knows how to play to the masses, so they build pedals that do their basic "thing". A serious player will bypass this level of product and never look back.
