10 out of 10Feature:
AMAZING!!!! Hot Start points (really helpful). Alpha track is awesome (listen to and scratch 2 songs off of the same CD). TONS of features. but what i love the most is the 0.00 % pitch rate. not many people know about this. it is obtainable by going through the menu. really helpful once again. and the platter. OMG, dont even get me started, it feels just like vynil.
Quality:
AMAZING!, thats all i have to say. i love the unit, the rubber buttons on it are really really good, cuz your fingers will never slip on them, and the buttons will tilt with your finger, really really good feature.
Value:
expensive unit. not the best for VALUE. but definately the BEST OF THE BEST.
Desirability:
all i have to say is, I OWN 2. and my complete lineup is all Denon..
Denon S5000's (x2)
Denon DN9000
Denon DN X1500
Sound:
AMAZING SOUND QUALITY!!!! if u want a setup that is gonna sound amazing, get 2 Denon S5000's along with the X1500 Mixer. i bought mine about a year ago. and any forum i see about the S5000's i have to comment because i know it makes a difference for beginners.
Ease of Use:
this unit looks very complicated to somebody who doesnt know what they are doing, but when u know what u'r doing, this unit is like a walk in the park.
Support:
had a problem with one of my S5000's when i just bought it (the platter was loose, therefore it was over spinning. and they sent me a brand new unit right away
Overall:
i love it.

9 out of 10Feature:
Great features for everyone! Remix artists, producers, serious DJ's will love this unit!
(Features the Denons have that you won't find with the so-called TOP OF THE LINE pioneer CDJ-1000's)
A/B Splice for cutting parts of a track seamlessly VERY USEFUL!
Alpha Track- like having two players in one! Makes this unit a
better value than any other CD/MP3player. WHY? Think
about it! On any other tabletop or even a dualcd player
you would have to have two copies of the exact same cd
in order to mix tracks from the same album! DN-s5000
saves you from making copies of all of your media. And
if you are not a jerk at your "party" gigs, meaning you
that you will allow the host to give you his/or her CD
to play by request, then its easy smooth mixing from one
track to another on that same CD with just one DN-S5000
unit since you won't have two copies of it! This should
be a standard in all DJ CD players! VERY USEFUL!
Mirror Mix- plays your track with a specified time Delay between the
Alpha track and the Main on the same exact song!
4 HOT STARTS/SEAMLESS LOOPS w/ A/B piont trimming! VERY USEFUL!
2 on-board SAMPLERS
Tail-Echo- fades out 1/2-1/1-or 2/1 beats of music when the track is
paused! VERY USEFUL!
DUMP- Plays the track in reverse for up to 4 seconds and returns to
foward with out loosing elapsed time! GOOD FOR REMOVING FOUL
LANGUAGE AT UNDER-AGE PARTIES on-the-fly!
BPM TAP BUTTON- always make sure your CD decks let you TAP!!!! The
Pioneers drop in value since they dont have this.
INTERNAL MEMO.- saves any hotstars/loops/ect. in the unit! NO MORE
VIDEOGAME-STYLE MEMORY CARDS!!!!
ACTIVE ROTATING SCRATCH PLATTER!- best vinyl feel! along w/ DN-S3500's
ok im finished
Quality:
Very well built, and are pretty consistant units. All it take is a friendly user, and these babies will last a long time! Don't drink near em, or let people smoke over them at gigs! Tell to BACK THE F**K OFF!
Value:
I think I got the best deals and value over all of my Denon equipment.
I think you will too, so buy a pair! Trust me, I know a lot for my age and I know I am right about the DN-S500's!!! :-)
Desirability:
It is a very apealing model and It attacks SO MANY WOMEN!!! I can't tell how how many G-D honnies were checkin my sh*t out! Actually It might just be me! :-)
Sound:
All CD Players have dynamite sound at this price!
Support:
I bought a DN-X1500 mixer (best match for a pair of 5000's) from DENON and they were very late shipping it over this past X-MAS which cost me a small $150 gig! So they understood and told GT Center to give me a free pair of HP-1000 headphnes along with knoking $200 of the mixer, so I paid $700 total! Yeah!
Overall:
Definately my favorites as of 2006! I strongly recommend that you get a pair even if you are switching over from vinyl like I did! But, make sure you understant the basics of DJing first!- Beatmatching, Headphone cueing, and playing the right music at the right time. I hope this comment was useful to you! Happy DJing and Happy New Year!

10 out of 10Feature:
most useful features: dump/mirror mixing, wish it had sonar like the CDX
Quality:
I think this is one of the best made DJ products, the platter is DIE-CAST like a 1200 turntable, and the buttens are rubber, but extreamly accurate, (no delays).
Value:
this product should be the most expensive CD t-table but asking 8or 9 hundred dollars is rediculas on any CD table. The CDJ-1000MK2's are a joke! $999.99 for the CDJ-1000MK2's! YOu are paying for the Pioneer name. the CDJ series are SH*T compared to the DN-s series or even the Numark CDX.
Desirability:
This is a bueatiful unit, and is very impressiveat first sight with features and all. YES I WANTED IT AND I GOT IT (THEM)
Sound:
great sound,and quality.
Support:
no, I say 10 cause I"m not sure and don't want to hurt the ratings
Overall:
I expect to still be stisfied with this product for the next 10 to 15 years with all of its luxurious features. Overall, aside, from price, this is the best CD deck manufactured yet.

9 out of 10Feature:
Using the scratch disc for cueing is super responsive, better then any vinyl direct drive Turntable; sadly slowing down and speeding up the platter fells just like a belt drive Turntable, without being able to do slight adjustments using the center spindle. I learned to use the pitch +/- buttons, witch work pretty good. The other main feature: Alpha Track, works alright if you really need to use it, but the fact that you have to adjust the pitch with parameter knob, takes away from the 2 decks in 1 appeal.
Quality:
The Deck feels very sophisticated. The only other CD Deck I messed with (in store) was the Technics one, witch felt really flimsy.
Value:
It's cheaper then Pioneer, Numark, and Technics. Has More features (Alpha Track, MP3, Upgradebility, Swappable CD Tray. If the platter felt more like Numarks, there was a second pich glider, and SD Card Support, then this Deck would be perfekt
Desirability:
It looks really cool; I hope it will look even better with a silver face plate. I haven

1 out of 10Feature:
Features are also great when software gliches don't occur. Scratch sound doesn't sound or feel like vinyl.
Quality:
Reliability is the worst of the worst. Unpredictable at times. Upgraded with supposedly new and improved plug ins for certain features and settings and that seems to have made this player worse. Don't depend on every disc to be read. You'll have to insert and eject the disc at least twice for it to be read or reset(Turn On/Off) the machine to operate correctly. All this means is that if your a dj who's constantly in the mix changing discs or have last minute changes in songs this is not the player. TRUST ME.
Value:
I regret paying full price for this unit. If I would've known better or known ahead of time. Oh well, here is chance. Totally not worth it.
Desirability:
Layout is o.k.
Sound:
Sound Quality is great when it's able to read a disc correctly.
Support:
One player has been repaired twice and still continues to have problems. Denon will usually tell the consumer it's user error instead of taking fault for their own products. Just check out the unofficial website. www.dn-s5000.com
Overall:
I will be purchasing Rane Serato for reliablity and a real professional quailty product. If your looking for a more reliable product, go with Serato if you want to spin Vinyl MP3's, or Pioneer if your sticking with CD's.

10 out of 10Feature:
The features are great... just make sure you know what you are doing.
Quality:
This is a very high quality piece of equiptment. The technology is superior, along with the reliability.
Value:
This is very worth it for the professional dj. Save and buy something useful and durable insted of something quick and cheap.
Desirability:
I wanted it and was determined to get 2 of them... I ended up taking out a loan.
Sound:
The quality of sound is great. The seamless loop sounds perfect
Support:
I have dealt with them before, rarely, however, since their products are very durable. They are willing to help and are very good with customer service.

10 out of 10Feature:
Came with an great manual that has multiple languages. 2 sets of RCA cables, small allen wrench, washer and screw, just in case when you are changing to a personnalized slip-mat and you drop or loose the original screw.
Quality:
The case is basic, yet very rugged. ABS plasic and steel construction. The LCD screen is bright and clear, the buttons are all lighted and even in a dark club, you can see everything on it. The constuction is a work of art, and in the dark, it is almost mystical with rich color and light from the control buttons.
Value:
DNS-5000 is a better buy and better quality than it's "Competition" by far! If you buy a different piece of gear that does the same thing, you just wasted your money my friend.
Desirability:
I think it was designed by futuristic aliens who worship DJing and shared there knowledge with humans.
Sound:
I have owned the DNS-5000 for about a month. When scratching very high pitch sounds (trumpets etc.), it sometimes sounds a little synthisized and even then barely noticeable. The features are to die for. There is also an O.S. update available from Denon for the DNS, download it. Installing the new O.S. is a breeze. The looping capabilities are outstanding. It also has multiple audio outs as well for even more flexability. Even the "platter" has grooves like a real 12". I have also used the CDJ-1000 and the CDJ-800, the DNS-5000 stomps a mud-hole in there ass.
Support:
Yes, I sent and email to the company asking if they DNS-5000 had a midi input or usb jack, they were polite and replied back very quickly.
Overall:
I saw it, I bought it, I love it.
