Feature:
I like the simple front mounted controls. It's all I need.
Quality:
There may be more robust amps, but Crown amps have always been well made, even back in the '70's they were well built.
Value:
I think it's great bang for the buck!
Desirability:
It's a power amp- doesn't have to look like any chromed and polished piece of furniture like some others do with damped meters and such. The black finish is simple and gives it a professional look that blends with anything. It meets and exceeds my needs with ease.
Sound:
This is my living room sound system power amp. It is clean and very accurate. Over-all response is clean, smooth and the bass is the best I have had in years. Very well controled.
Support:
I really haven't needed to contact Crown for several years (like more than 20). The one time I did in 1979 it was a pleasn't experience with prompt delivery of what I needed.
Overall:
I used to work for a sound company in the '70's and have dealt with several brands of power amps. Crown was always among the top of the list when it came to clean sound and reliable performance. You buy it, install it, and it works. I consulted my cousin who is presently an instructor for a leading audio engineering school (Sorry, I can't name it) and he highly recommended Crown to me, but not before asking some of his friends who use them and a few other brands professionally on the road and in perminant location professional use. Crown was the best performer for the money so I chose Crown. I just wondered if they were still among the top. They are! I'll never need any other, unless I go with a bi-amp system someday, then it'll be another Crown.
