Sound: The Guitar sounded full and round, with no obvious dead spots up the neck, and strong bass and trebles. It's expressive on soft passages and still sounds great when struck harder. Ease of Use: I was surprised at how good this guitar sounded right out of the box without even putting new strings on it. The set up was just right, slightly less than 4mm on the bass side at the 12th fret, and 2.5mm on the treble side. The neck is slightly shallow in profile and is very very playable. The nut and saddle are bone and were cut and polished very very nicely. Quality: It came with a Polyfoam case which looks like it will hold up well. It fits very nicely and cradles the guitar from damage. The quality of this guitar is outstanding. There are no glue indications on the inside, and the finish is thin and even...no buildups and no waviness. The tuners are really smooth without a hint of backlash, they feel very solid. The woodgrain looks nice and nicely matched. Overall the workmanship is excellent! Value: This guitar was a very very good buy at the price point...it's very hard to get a all solid wood guitar for under 700.00...and this was a good buy. Manufacturer Support: I haven't had to deal with the company yet. The Wow Factor: It's very aesthetically pleasing. Overall: This guitar will serve me well for quite a few years...until I buy a custom made guitar.

Overall: I bought the cedar top c9. There is a point when the quality of a classical guitar reaches a level that cedar and spruce start to have each others characteristics kinda, if you know what I mean? Surprisingly, this guitar is one of those guitars. This guitar has the clarity of an opened up spruce top, but the sweetness and beauty of a cedar top. I honestly have nothing bad to say. I will say that I have owned 2 c5s, and this is basically a c5 but with solid mohagany sides and back. It maked a huge difference in this particular guitar. I think maybe this might be due to the fact that the c5 is already a very well designed guitar to begin with, so the solid wood can actually do what it is known for, added resonance, added projection and volume, etc. If the guitar was not such a well designed guitar, I don't know if the jump from laminated back/sides to solid wood would be so noticeable, but for me there are huge differences. Compared to the c5's I have owned, this c9 has such a deeper and (I know this is not usually how you describe the lower e string) but beautiful sound compared to the c5's I have owned. It is considerable louder than the c5's in all respects and positions. This c9 is balanced nicely from trebles to basses, all the way up the neck. Above the 15th fret it might be a bit shrill, but it could easily be the strings, (or more likely that the guitar has only been played for 2 days it's entire life). After opening up I am sure I will never part with this guitar. I did notice some buzzing on some c5's and a couple c7's while demoing some at some local stores, and they might of had a bit of a sloppy recrowning or polishing of the frets on these models, after the frets were leveled. Some frets had been leveled and were sharp and squared on some, making playing a tiny smudge less easy. But it it noticeable that this c9 has had better and more detailed fret work, making playability of the neck just perfect. The tuners are very pretty and seem to work some fine but most likely should be replaced if the guitar you get is good enough to call for it. I would like to say, that I have noticed the cordoba c5's and c7's quality has not always been perfect, but after playing and looking over this guitar I would never hesitate to order one online without playing first. The laminated models I would not, solely because the acoustic performance of the laminated models seemed to vary from guitar to guitar to a great degree. With the way this solid wood guitar plays, even if you got a deader sounding one, I would think it would perform better than the laminated c5 and c7. And the c5 and c7 are the best guitars you can buy at that price I have found, and the best period you will find in a brick and morder "guitar center" or "sam ash". While this in an opinion I do not know how anyone could not share it! Although I do prefer yamaha's lower end flamenco models to cordobas lower end flamenco models. :) If I could have the chance to play some solid wood yamahas I might change my mind. I have given Manufacturer support a 2 1/2 simply because I cannot find a number to call cordoba. Mine did arrive with a small crack in the lower bout, but zzounds said they would happily send me a replacement when they got one in.

Feature: It included a strap but no strap buttons on the bottom to clip to. On an acoustic the strap goes on the headstock and clips to the button at the bottom. Ease of Use: This is an easy-to-play classical guitar. It requires a set-up like any other guitar; but it's quite playable without it, almost intonated just right. The thing tunes perfectly; any nudge of the tuning machines nudges the strings, and those tuning machines hold tight. They don't hold tension anywhere; strings slide right along the nut and bridge, so tuning is stable. Quality: The fit and finish is perfect. Thin, even coat of polyurethane; perfect grain on the wood; perfect wood binding. The worst aspect of this guitar is the frets, which are rough on the edges along the side of the neck. Have these polished smooth when you get the guitar set up. Value: This guitar is an extremely worthwhile instrument for consideration in the mid to low end guitar range. If it's just out of your price range, consider the C7 instead, which is similarly well made but of laminate wood. The Wow Factor: This guitar isn't anything special out of the Cordoba line. A Taylor GC8 or a Cordoba Solista have that draw to them; but the Cordoba C9 is just the lowest end all-solid-wood classical I can get out of Cordoba. It's priced extremely well, though; and it's made extremely well. This is the guitar to get if you want to buy a cheap but extremely well made all-solid-wood nylon string classical; if you want cheap and don't care if it's laminate, get the C7 (skip the C3). Overall: I'd skip the C10 and go for a Cordoba Solista classical to replace this. I paid $800 and could sell the C9 for $600 and buy a C3 for $300 to take places; but after the $60 for a set-up I'd be carrying a $360 guitar instead of an $800 guitar, having traded down to the tune of recovering $240... in the end it'd be a huge waste, and I'd be better off just keeping the C9 as a "throw-around" guitar.
