8 out of 10Feature:
The selections that the user has in programming these lights is infinite.
Quality:
The effects of these is fantastic. The color combinations are infinite in both the color pallette and intensity.
Value:
These lights really rock compared to old fashioned par cans. Dollar for dollar, you would need 30 par cans with different gels to reproduce the color combos that you get out of these lights.
Desirability:
After seeing these lights in action, I don't know whay anyone would want to go back to the par cans.
Sound:
It's lighting...there is no sound.
Ease of Use:
Once you get the hang of the mode switch, your off and running. Took me about 5 mins to figure it out.
Support:
Haven't had to call support, but the folks at zzounds are top shelf when you call with a question about your order.
Overall:
I am a part of an acoustic duo. We were looking to keep our stage setup simple, and the standard lighting sets available typically consisted of a single tripod stand, a crossbar, 4 par cans, and a basic controller, all for around $200.00. You would need 2 of them to properly light a stage (Now your talking $400.00). With these Chauvet lights, we drop one on each side of the stage on the floor, and run them on an automatic settimg. The light colors and intensity change in a slow, smooth, tasteful manner. The colors are fantastic and they produce a very professional wash for the stage area. At 900 watts max each, they provide more than enough intensity and we are only running ours at 75% capacity. These lights are the best bang for our buck that I have seen for quite some time. Once you get them, you will never go back to par cans and gels again.
