Sound: Bad, to put it simply. The kick drum mic was impossible to get a good sound out of. Very dead, wimpy, not accurate in low end. The pencil condensers are way too harsh, and the snare/tom mics are half decent at best. My drum recordings all sounded Harsh, lacking presence and clarity. Looking back, I have no idea what I was thinking spending this much on drum mics. Of course they'll sound terrible. I have not used these mics in a live situation, but if you are recording they simply won't cut it. Feature: Pencil condensers have a pad/roll-off, which is handy. Also having clips that clip onto your drum rims is handy too. Too bad they sound like junk. Ease of Use: Can't get good sounds with it. Quality: Seems like they can hold up to some whacks from a drum stick. Which mine did encounter. Value: You get what you pay for. Spend more money if you want a good sound. (D6, sm57, md421, etc) If you want to abuse your ears, then go ahead and get these.
