Feature:
Great...I reapeat great new features. All the stuf you wanted on the orginal sp-303 (which I have owned for at least five years), they finally put in. Tie the old and new together, now you really start having some old school fun. The pattern sequencer is totally where it's at and by far the most useful and important new feature. This along with the ability to resample sounds within the box. Awesome! Have to mention the number and variety of new effects. They must have listened to users groups and had several dudes on the R&D team that used and loved the orginal put this thing together.
Quality:
Pure plastic, but Boss beefed up the chassis a bit. Original had a "Drop warning" in the manual. I have, dropped it, many times : )
It survived, but I would not recommend banging it around or tossing it in a gig bag with other heavy gear, and throwing it in the trunk night after night.
Value:
Would buy if it were 100 more, great little on the spot sampler, pros will take this "toy" and turn it into a workhorse performance/recording tool.
Desirability:
It's cool...I bought one.
Sound:
Hey, for 299 simoleons, the sound is very good, basically as HI-FI as you put in, it's not 24 bit, but who cares for the price and ease of use.
Support:
Never had a reason to call them, heard they are somewhat random.
Overall:
There is nothing in the price range that comes remotely close.
