9 out of 10Feature:
The features are just the pedal and its entirety. This thing does almost anything. You won't get as much dynamics from it as opposed to a nice overdrive pedal but for lead work this thing kicks serious butt. I'm going to back it up with a DS-1 for rhythm and with the two channel Behringer FBQ1502, I will be able to get every sound under the sun.
Quality:
I'm sure the components could be upgraded because these are made in Asia and all that junk. I think with some equalization you won't have to worry about that.
Value:
For one of the cheapest Boss pedals, this is incredible. If it dropped to $50 I'd be a little more happy but paying $70 for a pedal that'll cure any disease is worth it.
Desirability:
It's pretty sexy. I wanted this thing badly because my lead guitarist at the time had a MT-2 so I wanted to combat it with this thing. I'm surprised people go for the MT-2 so much more than this thing. Of the few Boss pedals I have tried, I think this one really shines out.
Sound:
As other reviewers have said, this thing is amazingly versatile. Highly underrated, it'll churn out anything from a sick raspy rhythm sound to a screeching super sustained solo sound to a nasty bottom for drop D to fuzz (if you turn the high and low down and the distortion and gain boost up; it's just killer).
Ease of Use:
It's a pedal. You click it on and off. It didn't take me long to start messing with the knobs but only recently have I really fallen in love with this thing.
Support:
I don't know what it's like but this thing is so solid they could have monkeys manning the phones and I don't think anyone would be the wiser.
Overall:
My new solid state live show set up is based wholly around this thing. An FM65 pumping out these tones will suffice in a lot of places and I can really live with myself for switching to solid state because of this box.

9 out of 10Feature:
The high low volume is great. It allows you to get more out of which type of sound you want.
Quality:
Made from durable metal and looks overall very sturdy.
Value:
A great pedal with a wide range of distortion relatively cheap.
Desirability:
Looks pretty good. Just like an average pedal. Orange is a nice color too.
Sound:
The sound is amazing. It goes from no distortion to tons of it, with not much feedback. A great sound for playing any type of rock or metal music.
Ease of Use:
Very easy to use. The only thing that would make it easier is if the distortion and gain boost were the same knob. Besides that it is just tap on tap off, volume, and high sound low sound volume.
Overall:
Cheap. Good sound. Wide range. What more could you want?

10 out of 10Feature:
You can really get alot of different distortion sounds with the different knobs on this pedal. You can find the perfect sound fast and easy.
Quality:
Great quality, only an idiot could break a BOSS pedal. They'er built like rock.
Value:
This pedal i thought was awsome on value for the quality it gives you.
Desirability:
I think the looks of a BOSS pedal are freakin awsome.
Sound:
Sound is perfect for what i play, which is Nu-school metal. No buzzing either.
Ease of Use:
I could get a great sound out of this fast, but sometimes thats not always the case. Different people have different amps that make the pedal sound different, so some people just get lucky, and some dont.
Support:
We didn't need to contact them, and I don't think we ever will. I'm sure if we did though, they would be easy to reach, and all that other stuff.
Overall:
I can tell from the first time i ever played this pedal that it will last me forever. No matter how many more pedals i buy, there is no way im going to forget about this one.

Who cares about accesories? It gives rock solid distortion, and thats all you need.
Quality:
Its a beast dude.
Value:
its not free (as i wish everything was) but its not expensive. They get you on the 9 volts though, but you can just get an adaptor.
Desirability:
I dont own it, but my friend does and i want it soooo bad dude.
Sound:
A lot to play around with. It's too bad it doesnt have 4 band eq, but hey, it still rules man.
Support:
Hell, i dunno.

i love it. great distortion, simple, inexpensive, done.

10 out of 10Feature:
The features are realitively simple, but they do the job, and do it well. The level knob is for your volume, and no matter what you have your level at, you still get the same ammount of distortion, only quieter. THe tone knob allows you to change how bright the tone is, and the bottom knob right underneath it allows it to make the tone more "fat." Then you have your distortion and gain booster knobs, which, depending on their position, give you different ammounts of distortion.
Quality:
This product is made extremely well, and I can depend on it (and a spare set of 9 volts) wherever I go. This pedal is made so well I would recomend it to anyone who needs a good sounding,
Value:
Definate 10. I got mine used from a local dealer for $45 and was still in good condition. But if I don't have this opertunity like I did, go ahead and buy it. It is an excellent price and an excellent product.
Desirability:
Oh yeh, I wanted this pedal. It is very strong and I love the orange/red/whatever you want to call it color. This was a very good investment and was a very practical addition to my setup.
Sound:
The sound of this pedal is extremely heavey and has excellent bass thanks to the bottom control. The sound quality is excellent. I use it with my Behringer V-Tone GM108, and I can not believe the sound! The distortion knob does a very good job and the gain boost is handy, especially when you need even more dist.
Support:
Never had to use it. Boss makes excellent products.
Overall:
I expect to keep this product until

10 out of 10Feature:
The features are great. It has a distortion knob, plus an extra gain boost. if u crank the tone and bottom knobs to the right, you get plenty of low end. if it would have came w/ a power adapter, it would have gotten a 10. it does eat through 9V batteries fairly good. however this is one minor thing and does very little to take away from the overall quality of the petal.
Quality:
Look at the brand. Its a Boss. They're made to last. Feels like a brick. Maybe even better. It also comes w/ a 5 year warranty.
Value:
I would have liked it cheaper. But wouldn't we all. Its not bad at all for the versitality it gives you.
Desirability:
Uh. Petals don't have much sex appeal. But i do like the color and font :). Its a classic looking boss. Chicks dig it! haha.
Sound:
This petal provides all the distortion you will ever need. I was debating between this petal, the md2, and boss's mt2 metal master. I decided to go with this petal and im glad i made this choice. however, i bet that both petals sound amazing.
Support:
Haven't had to deal w/ boss. However ive heard that they are good.
Overall:
I love this petal. If ur looking at any other petal, stop. Get this petal, u won't b disappointed.

heavy metal construction its like a kickbox its brutal

its just as much as other pedals of the sort although i dont know they could match upt to boss for the value

its great! everything is so variable, from blues to metal, its sick. I love this pedal and i would never deprive my sg from it

8 out of 10Feature:
it has great featers could use a few more but the effects you can choose for make a great variety of difference..
Quality:
the quality of this pedal is unbeatable it sounds great and is a sold pedal almost impossible to break compared to a digitedh pedal bord like the GNX seires.
Value:
its kinda expensive which sucks but it is well worth it the only bad part is it sucks the baterys which will cost u and the adapter is 20 bucks but u almost have to have so that maks it even more but it is worth it for the quality and sound..
Desirability:
I wont even play with out it anymore if I go somewhere to jam I wont play anyone elses stuff I have to have the pedal cause it sounds so much better than all others..
Sound:
I own this pedal and it sounds great this pedal is the best distortion pedal I have ever played on and I tried several before I picked this one It has great low bottom end distortion for like a metal sound or hard alternative and it can be turned down to sound like the DS-1 with a more high en\d for a older distortion sond for classical. I like to turn the tone and bottom end up all the way then turn the distortion to about have and gain boost about half and it gives great sound for fast chord playing and struming like Chevelle or systom of a down..
Support:
good I hvant had any troubles yet and I have had it for about 4 mounths..

This pedal is to good to pass up and I wont play with anything else..

10 out of 10Feature:
if i turn the distortion to full and the high end to full while leaving the bottom at about little less than half it can scream unlike anything, if i want to rock hard with palm muting or rhythm i turn up the bottom with it and voila - simple and efficient
Quality:
I can probably get a hammer and hit it and it'll work fine.
Value:
the md-2 cost less than the mt-2 yet it can do what the mt-2 and more...the reason md-2 cost less is because it was released after the mt-2 made it's impact. the md-2's low frequency distortion gives it an added punch and is good for anything from metallica to nickelback to nirvana! when the gain is turned up on the md-2 it can easily oust the mt-2 in sustain!
Desirability:
like all boss pedal, this one will last longer than you. i hear people complaining about the thing wires fro the battery that could snap...well boss has a warrant of 5 years, and even after a decade the wire won't snap unless you use a plier or chainsaw or i dunno? maybe that would work, never tried it...
Sound:
I have no regret in my purchase...if i lose it then i will get the MD-2 again. if u have ur pickup switched to the bottom near the bridge, and have this pedal set right, u can sound more hardcore than courtney love/paris hilton's antics for publicity
Support:
this pedal never failed on me, never malfunctioned, so i have yet to have to call for customer support.

this one will stick with me for a long long time to come
