Feature:
You can control Gain, Level, Highs, Mids, Lows, and Presence.
You cant really ask for more out of a pre-gain pedal.
Quality:
Its a nice Boss Pedal. Built like a tank. It has a cool coating onthe outside of the pedal. Gives it a cool new feel
Value:
A little on the steep side for a gain pedal. But I htink its really worth the money spent.
Desirability:
It is a pretty sexy little pedal. With the coated exterior and the bassman print on the pedal, I think it is one good looking pedal.
Sound:
Its a great pedal. The pedal insn't really meant to be your main drive pedal. Its supposed to be a pre-gain pedal to color your sound before you start adding fx. It sounds great though. I have an old bassman head and when I use this pedal with a Epi Valve Jr. Combo it almost sounds as good. You can hear all the dynamics with your playing very well. The pedal is extremely responsive to the touch.
All in all I usually have it chained going like this:
FBM-1 - Reel Echo - Fender reverb unit - Epi Valve jr.
Ease of Use:
It takes a little while to dial in your sound since there are so many variables. But once you do, you'll love it. It is really easy to go from a high-gain setting to a softer setting which is good for swing.
Support:
I haven't had to deal with them as of now. Thats a great thing.
Overall:
Overall, Its a little on the high side for a pedal. its worth every penny ive spent for it. It is a critical part of my sound. I think boss nailed it with this pedal.
