"Too much fun for what it costs"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I've had it for around 3 years now. I won't be giving it up any time soon. It's way too much fun to jam with on my computer and very versitile.
Sound
It has the best amp sounds and speaker simulation, I think. The noise gate is a dream come true for single coils. Cuts the noise, but does not cut even the lightest picking. Also, the dynamic range is around 90 dB's which ain't too bad at all. The converters are 24 bit, but only 31250 sample rate. Below 44100 doesn't hurt it any though. I think it sounds awesome. Works for bass, keys, and guitar. And extremely well, too.
Features
With even a built in midi synth that you can play on a keyboard or sequencer and full midi control of the unit, what more could you ask for? Even a nice carrying bag and foot switch. Just the foot switch only does programs and won't switch banks. You need Behringer's midi pedal to do that and then you'll have a real wah pedal too. Or use something like an Oxygen8 to program it and play synth bass lines. This thing is just too cool. I added my own switch, pop cap, and polarized cord to the power supply.
Ease of Use
The distortions are kind of a pain to set from the box, but if you get the software to make your own presets, it's almost too easy.
Quality
It's plastic, but it would probably weigh a ton if it was in a metal case. It's pretty hefty in plastic as it is. The knobs and encoders are quite solid and the connectors are quality.
Value
This could be 100 here. The value is unreal. Off the scale.
Manufacturer Support
Behringer has lots of stuff on-line to support the V-AMP's. If you have a programmer, Behringer even posts the bin code for eprom upgrades. You can use a 1M flash chip from an old socket 7 motherboard bios or modem to have a reprogrammable chip.
The Wow Factor
The encoder lights are cool and they thought about users doing lots of tweaks and mods to it when they designed it. It is also very practical and alot of fun to use.

"Cheap and Nice! Don't listen to Behringer haters"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This has and will prove useful for some time, but I will be upgrading to a Bass Pod Xt live in hopefully 2/3 months. If you're short on budget or you're starting to learn to play the bass get this, it will help a lot. But if you wanna get serious (and want to avoid the whole amp/pedals setup) get a Pod or a boss gt-10b/6b
Sound
Some bass amp models are pretty good, some not, but in general not bad. Effects are good, I like the Ultrabass, but the drive pedals are horrible. Don't buy this if you're looking for overdriven sound, this is the reason why I will be upgrading to a POD soon.
Features
Besides good bass amps it also has some guitar, keyboards and vocal amps/preamps. I used the guitar amps once and they sound ok for rehearsal but never depend on it for live shows. It's a huge plus that it comes with the gigbag and the footswitch. I don't worry about the fact that it's plastic, I take care of my stuff. Not having an XLR output is no big issue for me, it works well for direct to PA connections with an unbalanced out anyway
Ease of Use
Very easy to use, with one quick run through the manual you're ready to go. It's only kinda a pain in the butt when you have to keep the tap button pressed to access second parameters on effects and amps. I like to be playing while I tweak, and it becomes pretty hard when you have to tweak with both hands because you have to hold the tap button.
Quality
Mine turned out great. No problems and will be taking it on the road
Value
For what it costs, it's definitely the best you can get. It wouldn't be worth it if it cost a few more bucks though, then I would be close to the price range of a Bass POD and undoutedly the bass pod is much better than this.
Manufacturer Support
Can't say, I have heard from other people that behringer does give good attention, but I haven't needed to yet
The Wow Factor
I don't like the looks of this kidney-shaped thing, I bought it cause I couldn't find the rack version in my country. I love the looks on the rack version.

THE BEST!! its got everything you could ever need, I have the bass v-amp and the fbc1010 run though a bc3000t & bb410 all behringer and the sound is great. I've heard a lot of bass amps and the high dollar ones sound like junk next to mine. I will never buy anything but behringer from now on, even our guitarist loves to plug in to it and jam, the guitar settings on the bass v-amp are great, its perfect for bass, guitar or keyboards. Buy it, you'll be glad you did!!

I really wanted for my studio stuff...but I think I'll get some live work out of it too. you can "dial-in" any sound you can imagine...and then some.
Sound
come on, $139? for this...you can't beat it...I don't care if the POD is supposed to be the "standard" it doesn't have anything that the Bass V-amp doesn't have.
Quality
bag, footswitch included...

"Sounds good, but complicated to use"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Since I do mainly studio sessions, and since this item is so noisy, it is almost useless to me. I do play live gigs and at church, but as much as I'm in the studio, I should be able to use this. Quality and construction are only so-so, but the patches and banks do have really good settings. If you feel that it is worth the time to commit to learning this thing inside and out, it may be for you. For me, I've got a young family, full time job, and sessions booked 3 weeks out... I don't have time to figure it out, so I'll just play it at the few live gigs that I commit myself to.
Sound
OK, so you can get some incredible sounds out of this thing. The amp simulators are pretty cool, and the effects are decent. Neither are up to the level that I expected when I purchased this item, but they are not bad. I get a lot of noise and "hiss" with this unit, so I can't really use it in a studio setting. This is disappointing because a unit like this is ideal for studio work. Having the ability to imulate all these different amps and cabinet combinations without actually having to own or maintain them! That's pretty sweet. I do use this unit live because the noise and hiss are not too bad to run live.
Features
There isn't much that you could possibly want that this unit doesn't have.
Ease of Use
This is where Behringer, Line 6, Zoom, and other companies have messed up. Yes there is a lot in these processors, but there has to be some way to make them easy to use, especially for cats like me that generally run direct! Maybe I'm old fashioned, I don't know... I like to plug in, dial up a setting, and play! I want to be able to edit presets, create my own amp/cab combinations, etc. with ease, but units like this one are far too complicated to do that easily. I have been able to figure it out, but it took a long, long, long time.
Quality
Quality seems ok. This could really use a metal enclosure instead of plastic though.
Value
Good value. This unit is just too complicated to use regularly.
Manufacturer Support
I did contact Behringer when I received this unit due to the noise issue. They gave me some suggestions and recommendations to reduce the noise, and they worked. It is still not studio quiet...
The Wow Factor
I really wanted this unit until I got it, then I didn't want it anymore because it is so complicated. I didn't go to my local store and play it before before I got it, and this unit taught me that valuable lesson. If I had known this unit was so complicated to operate, I would not have got it. So, since I did get it, and since I'll never get back the retail value of the unit, I'll use it on the factory presets in church or at another live venue.

"madthom2's borrowed unit-10+"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This will last until there is a sound I need is cheaper to add a pedal than buying a newer, updated version.
Sound
I just borrowed this for a few weeks at a time (his band's backup). I was blown away. No more foot pedals. I used it on my circa ~'64 Fender Musicmaster which is my baby-I put in killer pickups and a strat bridge. I like this guitar better than my Strat. which also used it with. I'm still learning. I'm a Jazz trumpet player but record my own guitars and play a Guild fretless Bass (B-301) which I haven't had time to play thru this beauty yet. I see in comments something about MIDI and computer use. I'm waiting on my Apple software that was left out of my mac.powerbook so I can reload GarageBand. It utilizes lots of M-Audio stuff. I want to record my electric piano, guitars, bass and mic for my horns as soon as the software gets here. I already have the MIDI cable to USB-in but it's mainly for PCs. I am hoping the software for this MIDI cable already has the drivers installed as mac is so famous for. Rarely do you have to load any drivers for anything. I will definitely buy my own. This has already proved to be an indispensable tool for my home studio. Can you list or e-mail something about playing this thing 'thru the computer' as one of your writers put it. This is a 11+. LOVE IT! -madthom
Features
I need to learn about the MIDI and macintosh compatible features. I pure mac.
Ease of Use
Haven't tried the fretless bass or piano and vocal mic yet, but I expect the same WOW!
Quality
Quality is great in my opinion-I don't think I have the manual-I borrowed it in the case and haven't emptied all yet. Time restraints.
Value
I'm not sure the price. My friend said around $100. I paid more than that for good distortion, Chorus, Octave divider and so on. I don't know how you sell this cheap./ nice to know somebody out there isn't gouging money deprived musicians.
Manufacturer Support
Don't know. Had and used it only couple days.

"Great Multi Effects Unit--Reviewed by seasoned pro"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
The unit was a bit noisy when I got it, but I have figured out how to cut the noise and gain the tone. This unit is great for live and studio! Amazing tone, great effects (I'm not much on effects for bass, but I need a little something, its there, and its great!). Buy this unit!!!
Features
Killer amp and cab simulators, groovy effects, great tone!
Value
There is not a better unit out there for the money!!
Manufacturer Support
Behringer tech support has been extremely helpful with any issues I've had with this unit. I took advantage of email support through their website, and they sent step by step instructions for my issues (these instructions should have been in the owner's manual, but weren't).

"The Behringer Bass V-amp is the best value for the money!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I like he fact that you can add different presets, tones, etc. from Behringer's V-amp website so that it pretty much won't grow old. As I mentioned before, I compared this to the Line 6 Bass POD, latest Boss pedal, Digitech, Zoom pedals and found this to be the best value out there.
Sound
This little box is great! The variety of amp and cabinet sounds that you can get with this is amazing. I've used it in both recording and live settings and was not disappointed with the results. The pre-sets are very usable.
Features
There are plenty of features and sounds to choose from. The effects are also extremely good. I can't belive that Behringer can put all these features into this box for such a low price.
Quality
I only took off a point because of the plastic casing. However, I take good care of my stuff so I don't think that I'll have a problem there. It seems to be very well made and laid out.
Value
I compared the features of this vs. the Bass POD. The Bass V-Amp has all the features (and then some) at half the price. Since I also play guitar and a "very little" keyboard, I like the fact that there are some amp and cabinet choices available for them as well. with the I saved on this, I can either pick up the V-amp 2 or the MDX4600 Multicom Pro XL Processor.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't been in contact with them.
The Wow Factor
I wanted it as soon as I read about the features and saw the price. That's why I bought it.

(see rating details)

i might use this forever...i wont buy another one because i'll take good care of it...if i lost or broke this baby...i'll buy the guitar v-amp(the blue one) because i want to see what's the differences...this really sound good even though u just throw out some random notes because some effects are sicko
Sound
i use this as an amp head. it turn my portable 15w bass amp into a REAL brand ....i also like the guitar sound, it really sound like a marshall. the quality of this baby is superior enough to turn a rogue bass into a music man!!!....from on bedroom to on stage,u can simply adjust the master volume so u wont be too loud or too soft...just play around with this baby then u can get the sound u want....i'm a beginner in these studio work but i can still find the sound i want....of course the sound is the best because it's quantity over quality.....(not that the quality is bad.
Features
i'll be honest...when i buy this they just kind of throw u out thier i kno thiers a behringer website to download new sound but i'm confuse of how to store it in the bank... i'm also too lazy
Quality
very good but my only concern is that the product is way bigger then i expected.....the product by itself is 10'x7' and i thought it would be smaller...if u put everything in the carrying bag it's biger and heavier then my backpack....i kind of want to travel lite around school so it would be problem when u need to carry ur own bass, amp and this baby....
Value
i thought it's only for 80 bucks but i bought it for 100 cuz i'm tired of being in stock and i want a new one ...it's worth it but it would be cool if it's cheaper
Manufacturer Support
again..thier's a website but they just show u the download without telling u how to plug it in...so i'm kind of confuse...but the website is kind of cool
The Wow Factor
sex appeal ha?....if thier is a higher score..i'll go for it cuz i've been obsesse with this product for a year when it was $140...i thought i have to buy both the guitar and bass amp after seeing it, it was "love at first sight"...i kind of save a lot when this product hav both guitar and bass amp.

"Hold on to your recipt."

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Terrible.
Sound
Noisy, needs a gate. This might be acceptable on some low quality stages but terrible for the studio. Does not respond well to playing, there is a noticeable click with most presets. A few of the presets were ok but most were not or exceptonaly noisy. Bass POD is sooooooo much better and definitely worth the money, if you have to wait for another paycheck or 2 then wait.
Features
Plenty of features for the money. Price is what attracts people to Behringer. Bang for the buck. Definitely not quality. This came with a foot pedal and it also includes a tuner. Basically most of but not all the features you will find in the Bass Pod but at a much lower quality.
Quality
This product was defective. The most basic function, selecting different amp models, did not work. The knob just would not switch models. Just a dud. At least the fooswitch worked. This was the only way I could get different amp models, switching through the presets. As far as I know the factory quality control at behringer is the worst in the business. If it looks like a cheap Pod rip-off then it probably is. I GAVE mine away and will never buy behringer again as I have heard plenty of simillar complaints.
Value
Had I known I would not have accepted this as a Christmas gift or birthdaty present.
Manufacturer Support
If I were to call behringer it would be to curse them out for having the nerve to produce such low quality products. Lower the quantity of bells and whistles and raise the build quality. Then you may have something.
The Wow Factor
I want Janet Jackson. Latoya will not due as a substitute. Pod - V Amp

I don't think i'll need to upgrade to anything else. most bass is recorded with DI, and this does that very well. if mine broke, i'd get another.
Sound
Awesome as a bass DI. has decent guitar sound too, especially the clean with effects.
Features
came with carrying case and footswitch. easy editing and wide range of sounds. an on off switch would be nice.
Quality
well, it's plastic but who cares, this isn't something your gonna stomp on anyway. it works.
Value
This item is definately worth the money. it really helped me build my home studio.
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor
it looks ok, probably won't pick up any chicks with it. I needed a good bass DI and this thing does it beautifully, and also has awesome effects for guitar.
