I'm going to keep this thing til it croaks or I do. I might get the PRO version or I might try the Bass V-amp in addition to this one. For my studio-based guitar needs this thing COMPLETELY fills the bill.
Sound
If you can't find sounds you like in this little blue wonder, you aren't trying. If you don't like the presets, it is easy to make up your own. I'm using it for digital multi-track recording and couldn't be happier. Auditioned the POD, V-amp and the J-Station. Picked the V-amp. Nuff said.
Features
Great little modeler. I've midied mine into my PC using the free downloadable Behringer interface. Changing presets is point and click simple. Changing effects parameters and levels is point and click simple. Only thing I don't like is that it has no power switch. Solved that with a cheap individual power switch at the wall socket above my desktop studio.
Quality
I have no quality complaints. I know it is made of plastic. If that freaks you out, buy the PRO version and put it in a rack. I use it to create great sounds not drive nails. I haven't had a single problem in several glorious years of ownership.
Value
Best money I've spent on guitar related gear in a long, long time. Can you say major league bang for the buck? I knew that you could.
Manufacturer Support
Any contacts I've had have been positive. I've called their USA number to get an updated EPROM for the MIDI footboard and they sent it to me free. Can't beat that.
The Wow Factor
I LIKE the funky guitar shape. I think the V-amp controls are more intuitive than the POD. The LEDs around each control are a plus too! More meaningful than a number would be.

"Great Except for Reliability"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Great product except for the durability of it. If it was made out of a stronger material and was more reliable, it would be perfect.
Sound
The sound met my needs for the most part. With all of the different amp/speaker combinations you can have, as well as effects, you can get a very wide range of sounds. It took me a little while to create a good clean tone that didn't distort when it was turned up, but I eventually got it.
Features
The ability to use MIDI to control the unit with a MIDI pedal was great. The MIDI also came in handy when interfacing with computer software to backup patches and create new ones.
Ease of Use
Everything was pretty intuitive. If you've used an amp to tweak things like bass and treble, you can pick this up quickly. Using it with the FCB1010 pedal takes a little bit to figure out, but it's worth it.
Quality
I had this for about 5 years and didn't notices TOO many problems. Most of the problems seemed to rise from the power cord (others have noticed this too). There were a few times when I would plug it in, and no sound would come out, or it would be very faint. I would just unplug it and plug it back in, and it would work fine. I started playing in a band recently and it worked fine for a few weeks, but stopped producing sound during a practice. I tried to get it to work, but I decided it would be better to just get the rack mounted version that seems more sturdy. The plastic casing and seemingly faulty power supply is ok for personal use, but not something that would be reliable for actual performance.
Value
Great price, especially if you're on a tight budget. If you have a little extra to spend, I'd say go for the rack mounted version.
The Wow Factor
All the lights are pretty, but other than that, it's pretty bland.

I haven't begun to tap all it's uses in a YEAR of recording steadily.
Sound
HIGHLY usable sounds; with a product such as this, it really DOES come down to your chops. I've been a player for over 40 years, and as a recording tool, this things makes my job a WHOLE lot easier!
Features
As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, I have used this in several applications that they DON'T tell you it can do.
Ease of Use
C'mon, man! it's got knobs and listing on the face of the unit; ya don't even have to crack the manual for basic uses.
Quality
I've had it for over a year; not a lick of trouble!
Value
Bang for buck, as a recording device, the best out there.
Manufacturer Support

"VAMP2, where you've been all my life."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I would keep this product for as long as I'm able to. I think it satisfies my needs as a recording artist and as a guitarist.
Sound
The only reason I give this a 9 is because I own both, POD and VAMP2 and the warmth is a little bit better on the POD but the effects and the VAMP2 just blow it away.
Features
The features are great. Everything you need all in one unit. I mean, you got at least 10 amps that costs over $1500 in this one unit. Not to mention different cabinets. I like the AUX IN line, it's really handy with a drum machine or just playing along with a CD.
Quality
Well, it's hard to believe that all the features its got, fit in this small, lightweight, device. I give them that much. It's made out of plastic, which makes you be more carefull when handling it.
Value
The value is beyond what you pay for. It has so many uses that I can safely say that I won't be needing an amp probably for the next ten years.
Manufacturer Support
Only a 9 because I've yet to use it. From what I've seen on the website, I don't see a problem with them.
The Wow Factor
I love the way the lights cascade like raindrops when you turn the VAMP2 on. Sexy!

"No Comparison"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sounds Fabulous, on PC DIGITAL recording (Cubase, Cakewalk), and Analog (1/4" Reel to Reel), and Cassette (Tascam 424) I have used it on all these mediums and it sounds fantastic!
Sound
The variety of Tones available are truly impressive, IMO, The Distorted tones are much warmer than the POD. The Clean Tones are shimmeringly transparent, Add the Chorus and compression and you have some of the richest sounds I've ever heard
Features
Outstanding, EXCEPT, for the fact that there is no on/off switch...what's up with that? The added Footswitch is a very nice feature
Quality
would have preferred a Metal Casing, but regardless, as long as you don't pound on it with a hammer , it should hold up fine. Knobs and buttons feel secure, and the jacks are tight.

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I like to keep my gear simple so I plan on owning The V-Amp for a long time. I don't need anything else it's all right here.
Features
It comes with a foot switch what more can you ask for.
Quality
The knobs felt a little cheap but that was the only thing. They stick out a little too much for my taste I'm afraid I might accidently knock it and snap a knob off. I would and do use this product on the road. No more amps or cabs I just plug into the PA and i'm off and running.
Value
For the price they ask and what you get you should feel like your stealing from these guys. You get a better sounding product than the pod at half the preice.
Manufacturer Support
I've never had any problems with the unit so I never needed to contac the company so I really don't know about their customer service.
The Wow Factor
Looks are such an adolescent concern.. I don't care how it looks I just worry about how it sounds and The V-Amp sounds great!

"Exactly what i wanted"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
this is overall a great product and the only thing i would change is the quality of the ins and outs. when researching, it was thouroughly explained and i wished for nothing else but to try it out.
Sound
Sounds great, haven't tried too many settings but still is good. The only thing is that i notice a little humming when palm muting but i might be able to fix that with some adjustments.
Features
the footswitch needed some getting used to but now i've got it. i especially like how you can plug it into anything. i've had it come out of computer speakers, headphones, amps, but the main use is going through a mixer into a set of speakers which really makes it sound good. the inputs and outputs don't seem as secure as i'd want them to be but they still hold the cables. the carrying case is a great addition, though.
Quality
great except for the plastic cover but that even seems durable and able to stand falls. the power adapter works fine but i don't like how it has all the delicate pins. my friend bent one of them plugging it in but i was able to fix it in a minute.
Value
most other products are bad or expensive. plus most are on the floor which i hate because sometimes i need to change something while i'm playing. so this is definitely worth it. i would have bought it at 200 dollars because it's still better than other products at that price
Manufacturer Support
i have never needed any support from behringer because all of my products from them work fine. i'm rating them based on other people's reviews
The Wow Factor
the guitar shape is a little corny but that still looks better than an amp sitting on the floor acting like a 40 pound distortion pedal running to a mixer. the blue is nice and it is very curvy and smooth. this item definitely helps in practice and recording.

I love it...I love it so much, lol.
Sound
This all depends on what you want to do with it. I've found Crate amplifiers worth the best with this processor. The features, and tones you're capible of are unlimited.
Features
Really only came with foot pedals to move back and forth between the 5 banks of effects. Other than that, the features ON the pedal are AMAZING.
Quality
This think will last you a damned long time, as well as give you amazing sound. The only problems I've found are the unique plug in's that behringer use. They break easily if you're not careful.
Value
Very cheap....Bascially buying a cheap pod, and it's probably even better.

First of all, I don't have any more pain in my back, don't have to carry that heavy Roland JC-120 and that lovely HotRod Deluxe anymore. The sounds are good, effects are ok, it's easy to use, it's cool. I have never play with a POD, I will buy one to see wich one sounds better, but remember, it's on your ears.
Sound
It sounds great, i'm impressed, all this time trying stuff, spending a lot of money, than this. I'm glad i gave a chance to this little blue thing.
Features
You got the bag for it, and you can store your cables on it. The on/off switch it's a real big mistake, but hey!!! nobody is perfect.
Quality
OK, I take care a lot on my stuff, so this is not a problem for me.
Value

Behringer V-Amp 2 Effects Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It will last me a lifetime, if it lasts a lifetime.
Sound
As someone who plays the V amp 2 just for pleasure at home, it is a pretty amazing unit. I am extremely impressed at the quality of the sound that I can get through my basic setup (Cort electric guitar and Peavey amp). I used too have a chorus, overdrive and graphic pedal that were limited in their sound output and took time to set-up each time. With the Vamp just scroll through the pre-selections and away you go - perfect.
Features
For my use there are probably too many features! This seems to be the trouble with a lot of modern electronic goods these days, they are over optioned. This seems to be the norm but I would prefer less functions and the money spent on higher quality. The user interface is great and continuous rotary switches excellent idea There are too many variations on the same presets - I use about 10. (1 clean and 9 distortions - why would you need anything else?). An on/off switch would be good. Knowing what I know now about the product, I think I would have bought the X V amp that Behringer have recently come out with.
Quality
The product looks well made and seems to be made from a durable robust plastic. For home/studio use this is fine but would have concerns if it had to be transported or used live on stage.
Value
For what it does the value is outstanding. However like all modern electronic goods will it be able to stand the test of time, or will it expire due to low quality components that are manufactured in china?
Manufacturer Support
Used there web site and had no problems so far.
The Wow Factor
The guitar shape is way to corny, it just doesnt look the biz. For home who cares, but would have to buy the VAMP pro or POD if I were to be seen in public with it.

"Forget spending thousands of dollars on equipment for incredible tone. It's not worth it! The V-Amp 2 is the answer."

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I would literally never play through anything else again. I've been through maybe 20 guitar rigs, and nothing sounded even close to this. V-Amp 2 for life.
Sound
I can't say enough about this little blue toy-looking thing. I record all my stuff direct from the V-Amp and it sounds absolutely phenomenal. My old guitar player had a $4000 Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier amp and this thing sounded better through his clean channel - much better - than his tube distortion full-tilt did. Yes, really.
Features
I bought a distortion pedal that was more than this thing. This thing is LOADED with features, but the beauty is, you don't need to use them if you don't want to. HOLY TONE.
Ease of Use
Way easier to use than most processors. Way.
Quality
It's plastic, but uh, hello? It's around a hundred bucks!
Value
I wish there was a higher rating than 10 for this. I used to have a ten space rack to get a great distortion sound and this thing MURDERS the tone I got out of that $5000 rig. Yes, really.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to use it. That makes it a 10.
The Wow Factor
You should already have this in your cart. The end.

"Worth every penny and more!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Comparing it with other multi-effects processors, I didn't have to wait and save up $3-400 dollars. I bought this as soon as I found out it had a pedal, no kidding. Trust Behringer products, they are cheaper and they work.
Sound
There are a wide range of sounds to choose from, but the ability to program in five presets with a foot pedal... for $100!?! I bought a secondary ART Studio V3 for some truer tube sounds and I'm going to return it. The Vamp2's tube sim sounds identical except its less noisy/crackly. I would suggest applying secondary effects like reverb and delay from other devices, it just makes it easy to use the Vamp2 for amp modulation and simple 3-band eq.
Features
Helluva lot for the price. A USB port would have made this device more expensive, but a better competitor to the Line 6 Pod.
Ease of Use
Everything's right in front of you. If you can't figure this out, its not Behringer's fault.
Quality
I'm glad that I'm not paying for a heavy duty case! For studio use, it's plenty durable. No power switch though??? What the hell.
Value
No-brainer folks. Buy it just for the accessories, hehe.
Manufacturer Support
I've bought Behringer stuff before, never had to call them.
The Wow Factor
It jumped out at me, the decision was not a hard one to make.

Fix the power connector and I will buy it.
Sound
No problems with the sound, I love it.
Features
The most perfect thing I could want to go along with my guitar.
Quality
Overall, the shape and materials are fine EXCEPT they use a PS 2 connector for the power!! It failed on my second day of use. I had not removed the plug but a few times and it failed. The lights all work, but the sound goes dead. A perfect device everywhere else and it all hinges on a poor power connector!
Value
A wonderful device that will fail at the power connector. Maybe yours works now, but at some point it will fail. Mine did on the second day. I will not ask for a replacement because I know they will all fail.
Manufacturer Support
Search of the web shows a lot of people complain about the power. The company has nothing on this subject. I expect every unit will fail at some point with this connector.
The Wow Factor
I want it when they fix the power connector.

"I s@@ked, but now I sound great s@@king!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

If this thing worked forever, I would never need another. Yeah, and I said that about my TRS-80...
Sound
I s@@k. I have always s@@ked on guitar, despite the fact I have been playing on-and-off for over 20 years. I guess that's why I am a drummer! Now, thanks to this incredible device, the crap that spews forth from my Gibson sounds GREAT!
Features
It would have been too easy to over-engineer the V-AMP2, but they didn't. Let's face it, the thing does some pretty damned complicated stuff. The interface is intuitive so that even a dullard like me can make it work out of the box. The only glaring oversights, and they are related, are the proprietary power plug and the lack of an on/off switch. The only way to power down the V-AMP2 is to pull the plug. Not much of an issue until either end breaks on you...
Quality
The V-AMP2 is pretty solid, but it is made of plastic. I will crush it, eventually...
Value
Cheaper than a Marshall replacement knob.
Manufacturer Support
I have yet to destroy it, so I have no experience with customer service. I will say, however, they the website is a wealth of information and links. The best link, IMHO, is the one to a site where a POD owner has hacked all 1000+ of the POD configs and translated them to V-AMP2 format for download. Takes balls to link to that!
The Wow Factor
Sure is purtee.

Sound
Only sound i like of this product is clean, every other effect sucks + i dont understand how people record with this or play live? to switch from preset to preset it takes around 0.5 seconds which is alot on stage.
Features
It has some nice features but it's to bad that the pedal cant be used for Wah.
Ease of Use
Manual is written very poorly, i figured out everything bymyself in few weeks of usage.
Quality
I dropped it few times seems to be working well.
Value
Well, for newbies it's a good product for the price.

I've had great fun with it and it responds excellently to my playing style.
