I got one of these monsters, and I love it. For the money you can't beat it. For some reason a lot of people don't care for Behringer. To me it's good for the job at hand, any job. With this mixer the ease of use, No problem. Thank You zZounds for the ease of buying.

SX4882
Sound
I would say the desk is totally neutral; what goes in and to tape comes back from tape with no coloration whatever (unless of course you choose to). It just works really well. EQ's are good and Mic Pre's are good; of course there are better around, but you'd have to be spending an awful lot more money to get significantly better sounds. It is also very noise free. The reviewer who says "but the poor quality of it makes it even more difficult to use because of all the hours of mixing needed to get the audio signals at a descent (sic) quality level if nothing more." has obviously got or used a faulty desk; send it back. This thing is really good.
Features
I use this in a home recording environment recording into an Alesis HD24 with a fair bit of outboard gear linked through six patchbays; With 24 direct outs and tape returns, inserts on each channel, sub groups and mains, six sends, six stereo returns and lots of outboard, you fill up patch bays pretty quickly, but it makes for a flexible setup; I also have the XLR Mic and TRS line inputs wired to my racks so it's far easier than leaning over the desk to plug gear in.I would prefer the six aux sends to be six separate pots and not switchable between 3 and 5 and 4 and 6, and I would like the channel faders to be a little stiffer to move; you can alter your mix easily by accidentally moving the faders with your shirt while leaning over the board; I wish the phantom power switches and line/mic switches were on the top panel, and I would like to see phase reverse switches on each channel. I also have Logic and an iMac which is an amazing tool, and far more advanced, but I just love the SX4882 and HD24. Call me a Luddite, I don't care.
Ease of Use
Very straightforward, the manual could be a little better. One word of advice; get a pair of gooseneck lights.
Quality
The mixer is solid and pretty heavy, it would seem perfectly rugged for live use, as rugged as any mixer with lots of little knobs to drop things on and break, and holes to spill beer into.......
Value
This mixer is really excellent value for money, I shopped around and did my research but nothing came close.
Manufacturer Support
Never dealt with behringer direct, but I've only had one problem with a behringer product and the shop I purchased it from swapped it straight away. I've had loads of Behringer (and other FAR more expensive) gear, and have always been happy; any probs, take it right back.
The Wow Factor
It looks impressive, doesn't have any coloration, what I put in, comes out. The meter bridge is practical, functional and when it's cooking looks great. A really good tool.

"A lot of people give their opinions on this console...but you have to sometime look at the sources also....if you purchase this"

I will continue to use this mixer...and if it ever fails we will purchase another one...
Sound
This Mixer has Fantastic features and the sound is Great! we use this mixer in two super large night clubs and i have had nothing but the best luck and sound...alot of people want to cut on the mixer...but it is usually because they aren't using the right Mains and the right Power..If you have all the Effects, Eqs, Maximizer, Mains and plenty of power this mixer will do nothing but give you what you want...
Features
The mixer has plenty of goodies such as THE B mix which is very handy and plenty of AUXS INPUTS....Great for effects and personal monitor sends
Ease of Use
The use of this mixer is an easy use Console...it's all right there in front of you...Everything you need is also in the manual..But if you have used Professional Mixers in the past and you have plenty of experience it is a no Brainer...even for new users it is right in Front and easy...
Quality
It is solid and the Bridge meters is a plus...instead of having to use the solos just to see what you are doing...the meters on each 24 ch are right there...
Value
The selling price for this console is great for Professional and new bands looking for a new mixer at the best price possible....it is the nearest mixer to the Mackie that i have used and it's absolutely great
Manufacturer Support
never have had to deal with the company
The Wow Factor
in looks it is very impressive.. it's large and has a very professional appearance...

"Behringer's got guts"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I am giving this a 6 because if you're working on a Budget this might just cut it.But don't expect it to be a huge improvement over the 802. Once again i'll say this: I admire behringer's courage....but i despise their product.
Sound
The sound of this mixing board is just Behringer-ish.If you expect a drastic change in audio when upgrading from the cheapest to the most expensive Behringer mixer, you'll be dissapointed...they're all equally thin, compromised and oily as their very cheapest models.
Features
Behringer is never around when quality is needed, but quantity is where it excels. An in-line mixer at this price is simply unheard of,and 48 channels of audio are as equally ridiculous. The meterbridge is also a fine add-on.as well as everything else.
Ease of Use
How easy is it to get great sounds from this product?Damn impossible. This mixing board's just as equally complicated as a Mackie,TLA or A&H,but the poor quality of it makes it even more difficult to use because of all the hours of mixing needed to get the audio signals at a descent quality level if nothing more.Add to that the massive number of buttons, and a newbie to engineering would freak out.
Quality
Behringer isn't quite proud of it's quality, you know.98 percent of their products are cheap and plastic, but this one is just plastic. You will find it extremely difficult to keep it intact.
Value
I admire Behringer's courage to make a mixer this big and expensive.I thought they'd never do it.No real sound engineer would buy one of these, unless he lacks self-respect.The thing is, i will give this one a 7 because it's big.
Manufacturer Support
Behringer employees have coffee breaks 24/7.
The Wow Factor
This one has absolutely no sex appealing stats apart its size.Beyond it's practical use,it's just ugly.Add to that the Behringer logo.....
