I have always been skeptical of so-called "knock off" brands, since common sense dictates that you get what you pay for. But I tried Behringer on a friend's recommendation and couldn't be happier with this mixer. Having used Mackie units with nearly identical specs, I find Behringer's sound quality to be on par with those units. In addition, the unit is extremely sturdy and the faders and pots are smooth and well-made. Unless you are willing to spend a few hundred dollars extra for the Mackie name, I definitely recommend this unit for its quality and value.

You can buy three of these for the same price a ONE Mackie. Needless to say, Mackie has THE NAME and resale value, etc. Plus better quality parts, because they outsource to their own specs from Korea, Taiwan. But Behringer has the experiance and this mixer proves it. I own two and have the sub groups mapped in a way that I could not do with one Mackie. Versitility up the yin yang! And their outboard equipment is also a great value, priced so you can actually AFFORD to buy them! Every project should at least own the COMPOSER for it's outstanding LIMITER/Compressor functions! I rate this mixer at the top!

I've own not one, but two MX2004 mixers. The quality is incredible, and I don't know of any better deal for the home studio. My seconf mixer is also a great "front-end" for my powered PA speakers (Yes, they're Behringer B300s). The MX2004 manual is a piece of art. I admire the people who engineer this great stuff, support it with superior documentation and then sell their products at an unbelievably low price. More power to you and to the people who use your equipment.

This mixer for the price is solid and you wont find it coming up short in any areas EQ's well balanced and all features proform as they should BUT! the construction itself is rater weak a rather lightweight (160lbs) asociate of mine accidentaly steped on it while he was stumbleing around in a drunken stuper (why the mixer was on the floor I dunno) but thats not the point! after he steped on it, It tweeked pretty bad and we ended up having to toss it because it could no longer function but that shouldnt bother most people since most people dont keep thier mixers on the floor but still be forwarned it only takes one smack to knock this puppy out COLD!

Actually, my keyboardist bought it. We were a little dismayed, because we thought it had 20 channels plus the aux ins, but once we plugged it in and used it, we were both very impressed. The unit handled his keyboards, my guitar, and our bassist, simultaneously, without ever overloading and clipping! Of course, that's what a mixer is supposed to do. This unit does it cleanly and quietly. We can't wait to use it with the full band. After 25+ years in the music business, absolutely the best value and sound for the price I've seen!

I've used this board for a few years now in my home project studio. It's been trouble free and has enough channels and routing options to handle most situations. It's quality, features and pricing make it a terrific value.

I use this mixer as a DJ and sound man for live venues. I sub mix drums on a seperate board and bring it in on sub mix... sound quality and flexability is superior for price.

I use this mixer in my home studio. I wish it had a few more "control room" features for tailoring headphone mixes but other than that, I am happy. It's very comparable to the Mackie I use live. Can't beat the price.

I decided to review this because it makes me angry to see everyone saying Behringer isn't nearly as well made as mackie.THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME SIGNAL PROCESSING BOARDS!.This is alot cheaper than a mackie 1604VLZ and with all the same features. This board does everything i need it to for industrial dance. It works great with my outboard effects. and it makes me content to know i only payed $219.00. This board is great, don't listen to the people that love to blow wads of cash on a mackie thats the same thing.Give that extra money to charity or buy a present for your G/F. Behringer = good karma
