very high quality mixer with lots of control over sound quality. Built-in equalizer is easy to adjust and sounds better than the GEQ3102 also by Behringer(which I have returned because there's no LED lighted up). Can be used for karaoke but cannot adjust key(pitch), very good mixer for karaoke purpose. I used it mainly for karaoke and EQ, plus occasional A/v editing. Only drawback: the mixer side near power supply input gets hot quickly, despite having vent. holes. Be prepared to buy an external fan for this baby if you works it around the clock

You can't beat this mixer for the money. The options, quality of construction and the built-in effects processor makes this an ideal board for group vocals with music playback from a stereo source.

I originally purhased the 1804X as a mixer for my keyboards/home studio work. It has since been pressed into service as the live performance board for my recently formed band. The mixer works just fine and it performs just as I expect it to, but 14 channels ain't enough!!

In terms of durability and reliability, I've not experienced any problems whatsoever.

P.S., the built-in digital effect are, ok, but given the extra channels, I think I'd opt for the 2004 next time.

I bought this mixer to sub-mix drums for my new digital Fostex VF-80. (which is excellent)
My mics are pretty horrible, but the mixer has decent preamps. They were quiet, musical, and transparent. The EQ was a bit hard to use. The graphic and parametric channel EQ has to have huge boosts or cuts to even be noticed. However, I found the effects section to be pleasing. There is no control of parameters, but that is o.k. You can always run outboard gear if you don't like the presets. I am looking forward to running this board in the future. This is my first board, and it is a little hard to get used to.

I purchased this unit to supplement my home studio digital recording equipment. It has performed better then my expectations. The mic preamps are high quality with no noticeable noise or sound coloration. The electronic and mechanical components are also high quality. The sound effect unit sounds great.
