Feature:
There were no accessories included.

Quality:
The microphones have held up to 20 years of live performances. They've all had their share of bumps and bruises without a single failure. Some look like they've been used to drive nails, but thay all still work.

Value:
The price is exceptoinally reasonable considering the quality and durability of the product. We'd pay more if necessary.

Desirability:
We buy our equipment for function, not appearance. The ATM41a is the classic microphone with no frills. Our first eight were in a set which featured different colors with matching cables. This helped with set-up. The subsequent four that we purchased were all the same color, so we've color-coded the cables ourselves.

Sound:
We use Audio-Technica ATM41a microphones for performances as well as studio recording. The ATM41a produces excellent reproduction for both vocals and instruments through the entire sound frequency range. We have never encountered a problem even after 20 years of hard knocks on the road.

Support:
WE've had no need of assistance from the manufacturer.

Overall:
We have no intention of purchasing another product. We've seen the trouble other bands and sound-engineers have had with their equipment, and we've expereienced problems when we aren't using our own equipment. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

This is a good mic for the price for live performance. I have two dynamic mic's: the Audio-Technica ATM41a and a Shure SM-57. As a performing singer/songwriter I use the A-T for vocals and the Shure for my acoustic guitar. I find the combination to be satisfactory. The Audio-Technica allows for the vocals to be right on the mic or off axis and I've never had feedback problems. The A-T's range effectively functions as a low-end filter since it drops off around 50Hz. The mid-range sound is good for vocals, but I found that the mic is not to my liking for use on instruments. The high end is a bit metallic with guitar, but is a good match to my vocals giving a bit of air and warmth. The mic is very rugged and still looks almost brand new after 5 years of field service, and thats after being dropped, stepped on...not to mention the beer-spilling incident! The downside is no on/off switch, restricted dynamic range and limited use since I wouldn't personally use it for instruments.
