Style of Music: mixed bag, from pop-ish to bizarre

This little wonder can make anyone sound like Sinatra! Seriously, It's a wonderful addition to my VF-16 based project studio. The preamp stages in the VF-16 (Fostex 16 track DAW) are ok, but a tad on the noisy side. I wanted a preamp that would compliment my NT-2 and Stedman N-90, and this one fills the bill perfectly. Everyone overuses the term "warm" in describing tube gear....I think a far better description of the Tube Channel would be "intimate". If you're in the market for a tube preamp, and can audition one, by all means, try it.

Want it all on a budget? This is great. REALLY REALLY warm, I've tried tube amps that weren't as warm. The compressor is the only thing lacking. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but I would like conrtol over ratio and attack/release, guess I'll have to buy the pro. This rack absolutely kicks ass on Bass. Unbelievable, really, check it out.

If you're working with a limited budget, the Tube Channel is a great tool for improving the quality of your recordings. The construction is sturdy and the design is well-planned. I'd like it if the EQ section controls were more precise, but the tone-shaping is still excellent. I recorded vocals onto my home computer using the Tube Channel and an SM57, and even my friend who has a full studio and a collection of pro mics was impressed.

I use my pro-channel for a bass amp pre-amp, it sounds better than the carvin, alembic and GK preamps that are on the market today!!! I name those specific pre-amps because they are all along the same price range!
